Default Clear Coat?

I have a quick Question. I have a 2003 Mustang GT only has 6000 miles on it. I started to notice on my rear bumper on both sides that i think my clear coat is coming off. Its still under warrenty until Feb 06. Do you think this will be covered under warrenty? Why is this happening? Is this my clear Coat?

Thanks for your help everyone.

Looks like your clearcoat. Looks like your tires have really thrown some rocks and other things at your wheel well. Not sure if your warranty will cover it but you might as well try.

I agree, if there is any signs of stone chipping they will not cover it. :sad1:

Any paint defects are covered for 50,000 miles and 5 years.

I know when I bought my car they asked me if I wanted paint coverage and this coverage and that coverage. All types of coverage, it was annoying really. But, I would assume it would be covered unless they seem to think you drag racing and it was ruined that way. Some ford dealers are nicer than others, unfortunitly one of the ones near me are *** holes.

Yeah that is very true, some dealers are nicer than others. I also have a few around me that are just jerks and when i do take it in they dont fix it. I think they need to work on better service... Well thanks guys for the input. Im going to take it in when i get back from a trip. Ill let you know what they say.

You have to remember a paint chip is not a defect, it is damage, and Ford will not cover damage. I work at a Ford Dealer and it is getting tougher to cover paint problems. We have had to eat the cost of several paint repairs because Ford refused to pay the warranty claim.
