my two passenger side windows have obnoxious water stains. I say water stains, because thats exactly what it looks like. It really is mineral deposits, and weak crap like vinegar wont remove it. Ive tried scrubbing it off with a soft enough abrasive sponge and some special remover. Ive tried rust removers, stove top cleaners, and a few other things. Any suggestions?

 

You can try using a clay bar.

Clay bar worked for the water spots on my window. I've also used stove-top cleaner.

 

Are you sure it's on the outside? Sounds like a stupid question, but I get water spots on the inside of my windows all of the time after cleaning my car and rolling down the windows and whatnot.

 

its definitely on the outside, as a matter of fact i removed my tints thinking it was in between the tint and the inside of the window. Now if i look on the right angle i can see its out the outside. Ill try a clay bar...if i can find where to buy it.

 

Autozone, pep boys, basically any auto parts store will have clay bar kits.

 

Clay bar would probably work. If not, you could try some very fine steel wool.

steel wool with window cleaner. Just don't press to hard.

its crossed my mind pcola, and if the bar doesnt work ill take it to a glass shop and see what they can do

 

There was a thread not long ago about buffing scratches. I would about bet my life it would work, but I would use that as a last resort. For what it would cost you to have a glass shop do it, you could buy the kit yourself from Eastwood or something- for a fraction of the cost. I still think the clay bar or steel wool will get it done. It'll be interesting to see what works.
