Angry Hood Help.....

Im sure most of you are aware that you have to shut your hood pretty hard so It will latch properly. Yesterday I'm washing my car and and when I popped the hood I noticed that the left hand side of the hood where the rubber stopper touches is starting to crack. Should I be worried about It? I'm thinking Ill just leave it until it does offically break and then get a new hood. I just wanted your opinions on either how to fix it or what I should do about it.

Heres a few pics.
Cracked side

The crack on the outer side of the circle just recently happened I think maybe today.

Non cracked side.

First pull that intake silencer off your air box to get better air flow, second you dont need to slam it hard to close it. I just get it close to the bottom then let go and push down and it latches without much force.

You think installing actual hood pins would help since they will have the metal backing where the crack is?

I do exactly what Spike explained. Lower the hood slowly, then push down on it and let it latch. But I have a CF hood that weighs 13lbs and slaming it wouldn't do crap. Any wind blows it off the hood prop lol.

I did try pushing it down and it still doesn't latch, and yes I was really forceful with it. Guess Ill have to try it again later on.

I dont mean let it sit on the latch then try to press it close. I hold it a few inches up then let go and press down while its moving down. Doesn't take much to get it to latch closed. Hood pins wont help you.

when i was referring to the hood pins I was talking about the metal backing reinforcing the already cracked portion of the hood. There going to get installed regardless since there currently sitting in my room.
