Default Time for no wing.

havnt been on the forums in awhile, but im back mmm

Got my 01 GT vert, and well, I WANNA TAKE IT OFF...some say not to take off the wing because of A)Hood Scoop B)Just dont and C)Dont do it to a vert!....but i like how a wingless vert looks esp if i can ever get my hands on the Bar and such...

Anyways, for the time being Im just going to take it off and use the famous Plugs from Lowes to fill for now...

BUT...for the professional way, would i go to a body shop, and just get em filled, then go somewhere to get my trunk lid repainted? if so, ROUGHT estimate in a price?

and 2 reasons why i want it off, 1) I just like wingless look on stangs, esp after i finish my rear end stuff... and 2) Well, my wing "Split" and when i go over 70mph , my wing will actually flap and itll hit my trunk lid so i started getting this weird white line from it being hit, some of it comes off but can see it...

Guess i cant do plugs and just go straight to paint? or should i try to wax/polish/buff it out?

Thx in advance for reading all of this.

Before getting it permanently, the first thing I'd do is the lowes plugs with some touch-up paint that matches your cars color. Then If you like the look, you have two options. Keep the plugs, or get it professionally filled. If you don't like it, get a replacement wing. Sounds like yours has reached the end of it's lifetime anyway.

So yeah, what plugs from Lowe's? I'm looking to remove my wing as well.

I was thinking of going wingless, too. Is it possible to take the wing off just to see how it looks and then re-install it? Or is there some kind of glue that would prevent me from doing so?

If I don't go wingless, I'm going to get the GT500 rear spoiler or a 3D Carbon ducktail (which I actually like more) and I can't decide between the two. I'm getting the Cervini's Concept hood and the CDC classic chin spoiler, so I don't know which one would look better with those two additions, but I know the hood and chin spoiler would look unbalanced with no wing at all.

I sure do love the look of wingless 'Stangs, though.
