Default Question about rear wing delete

For those of you who have or know about deleting the rear wing, what do you use to fill the holes that the wing bolts to the rear deck? Love the look of a wingless stang, and I wanna give it a try. Thanks guys!

I picked up the black nylon plugs from a local Ace hardware store. Some guys have found them at Home Depot and Lowes. I could only find them at the small hardware store. Buy these plugs, smooth them over with sandpaper, then add a little touch-up paint to match the car. These pics are pirated from modulardepot.

Be forewarned that the wing may have left some scratches in the clear coat. Try the wingless! You can always switch back.

Yea, most people just take some of those plugs and do it. Some even use touch up paint to paint the plugs before they put them in. Just a little cleaner.

When I took my wing off of my 01 I used some putty type stuff from Lowes. It was for like plugging up pipes or something, came in a white tube. It is kind of like bondo really, you just bead it up and make it fill the hole and smooth it out. I liked it because there was so buldge like the plugs leave. I covered it with touch up paint after it was hard.

I also had some crap on the decklid after I took the wing off. And there was some water inside it, but I have no clue how it got in there or how to get it out without putting a tiny hole in the bottom.

yeah i deleted mine and it was full of water.... and it wouldnt come out.... if it got in there has to be a way out. ../to get the rings off. go to your local auto paint store and get some polishing compound. or compoud. i suggest get the good stuff be cause the cheap stuff doesnt shine up as well. just put it on a fine threaded cloth. or wool buffer and buff untill it is gone.

Or if you are like me, expect some idiot to spin you around an intersection and get the insurance company to fill in the whole trunk lid for you, looks stock But I must warn you about the intersection thing, it is very scary once you start to spin around, and around.

Do any of you have the stock 01+ rear wing you want to get rid of? I am going to try a "project" with one....not wanting it that bad, but if the price is right I would be interested! Let me know!

As I replied on that other forum Maybe try the local Ace Hardware? Lowes, Home Depot? The brand of the plugs are Hillman. I 'spose a guy to ship them..

Been there, done that. Except it wasn't an intersection.
Trunk looks great, though!

So you feel my pain, lol. After I got out the car and saw my side crushed in, it was so depressing, thought I had died.

Yup, me too. But it wasn't anything a good bodyshop couldn't handle.
