I have a question about painting the engine components

Will normal spray paint work to give my engine compartment a good custom look? I am just looking to paint some parts such as the intake manifold? Or is there special paint that is for that kind of metal?

Spray paint won't stand up too the heat of an intake. Autozone sells high heat spray paint
