I just looked at My 04 trunk likd and it is not metal. It is definetly plastic. The best permanent solution is to find a V-6 guy that will trade your trunk for his. I have yet to see those holes patches sucessfully so you cant see them.

GT bumpers have a little cut out for the tail pipes, while the V6's dont. So if you have turn downs or side exhaust, you wont have a hole in the bumper (not really a hole but you know what I mean). So you put on the V6's and makes it look cleaner.

just curious, all this talk about the V6 trunk...
I have a GT without a spoiler.... it was a 40th ann package tho, but there are no holes and it looks sharp. Were those the only spoiler-less GT's?
Dude, ColoradoStang, check online,
http://www.coloradomustang.com/fordrace/fordrace.html
This place in denver claims to have the worlds largest mustang salvage yard
Being colorado with this crap snow and all, im sure there are some newer V6's that might have been totalled with a relativly untouched backside, might be able to find a trunk lid there without the holes, might even find the right color and in real good shape.
good place to check anyways
