Default head units

I was at a car audio shop today and came across a brand of cd player i"ve never heard of. The company was Valor. Has anyone ever heard of them or know anything about their quality. The unit looked like a nice piece but looks can be decieving.

ok, but why do you say the Valor units are garbage? Just looking for clarification. What's the major issues with them?

Same reason why Kenford is junk. Same reason why Rockwood is junk. Same reason why Pyramid is junk. Its a low end budget company that uses cheap parts to make a cheap product. You really do get what you pay for when it comes to electronics, and AUDIO specifically. Anyone whos into audio/video will tell you this.

I bought the Valor anyways, I searched for hrs. over the last few days and found tons of good reviews for them. Very few negatives. I'll find out how good they are very soon!

WHY??

When you could have got something like this:

http://walmart.scosche-cars.com/prod...ductID=5148257

Also, explain this to me, you come up here, ask for an opinion about a product, get nothing but negatives about it, ask for elaboration about why it was given a negative review, get ANOTHER explaination, then you begin to dispute it and end up buying it anyways.

Next thing you know, you are going to post a question about Electric Superchargers on eBay and end up installing one on your car cause you are having Vortech withdrawals.

I have had several head units and when I first started getting into the audio scene I tried to buy cheap and got screwed. Unlike most I did not learn my lession and tried it a few more time. Some even seemed to be sweet at first but ended up being junk in hte end. Moral of the story I should have listened to the other people telling me I was getting junk. I ended up spending money on that then putting more out on the good stuff when I could have saved time and headache with the good stuff in the first place. But thats jsut my 2 cents man. Everyone does what they think is right. I am jsut telling you what happened to me.

LMAO.... a reputable car audio shop is hands down better the best buy and circuit city. if you are going to install the HU yourself, get it off the internet.

this is the crap you get from best buy... pimple popping teen either not knowing any better or too lazy to do it right.

that is a speaker wire exiting the drain hole of the door....

Default Kraco !!!

Man, I remember selling Kraco brand units back in the day when I worked at a Checker Auto Parts store. Those things were ****. But the High School pimple poppers would buy them up like they were going out'a style! I still have in my Garage an old Pioneer unit that plays cassettes and it worked just fine when I pulled it out 8 years later when the car sold. I just can't bring myself to throwing it away! Notin wrong with it..
Do yourself a favor and buy quality....pay for it now, or pay later. Your choice.

i whent with a kenwood head, amp, and subs payed $700 instaled soundes grate i have no complaints. i have had people in my car and they cant beleve it is only 2 10's. and its not all about you system it is also how you have it wired, placed in your car for acostics, and matching what you have like subs and box or matching your lows mids and highs to eachother it all plays into it. i have hurd cheep stuff sound graet but it wont last long i have also hurd good stuff sound like **** because they didnt match there stuff.
