Blower only working on the "HIGH" setting? Well my friend, your blower motor resistor has gone bad. "Oh my bajeezus, what do I do?! Is this a $400 part! Oh me, oh my!"... the answer is "No". It is a $17 part with tax.

First, go to your local ford service dept and order one.

Next, open the door to your car and locate the GLOVE COMPARTMENT. Look below the GLOVE COMPARTMENT. You will see it attached directly to the blower housing.

Refer to pic #1 and #2.

Now you must remove the 2 tiny bolts holding it in and disconnect it. Pull it out, now prepare for install. Plug the new one in, mount it back using the old bolts and there, my friend, is the end of the install. Now grab a beer because you just spent 3 minutes of your life. Enjoy the many settings of heat / AC.

Refer to pic #3 and #4 for what the new one looks like.


Seriously though, some people may wonder whats up so I just did a quick how to for whatever reason. :-)

having similar issue except mine works intermittently, drove it for 5 miles yesterday before the fan started working would this be caused by the same resistor

 

This part is located below the glove box and has 2 screws holding it in place with one connector. Mine has gone out and it was really easy to get too. All I had to do was open the glove box and squeeze in the sides to open it up fully to see what I was looking for and unscrewed the circuit card that holds the resistors. Literally, a 5 minute job.

 

I have the same problem with my 05. First I lost first, then second and now third speed. High speed works great so I know that it isn't the motor.
I tried to open your photos that you posted but some reason I can't access them. Is it possible to send them to me please?
I believe that this is a repair I can handle if I know where to look.

Okay, so I replaced the resistor motor and all speeds worked. I was delighted. I then drove the car twenty minutes, went into the grocery store, and when I came back it only worked on high again. Any ideas. One website suggested replacing the cabin air filter/pollen collector and I phoned Ford to find out if they had any in stock. Ford said that wouldn't be the problem and said I could run without that particular filter and it wasn't going to hurt anything. But I'm still a little nervous about putting a brand new resistor in and watching it blow again. So, if anyone has some other ideas, I'd sure appreciate it.
