Cool Dual Exhaust Power ?

:hello2: Hi Everyone

Question(s) Please.

I'm new at trying to add a little power to my 289 Ford Mustang Convert.
It will be arriveing now I'm this Thurs. July 21st.
My wife bought it for me for Father's Day ~ GOD bless that women of mine.

Here's the questions: Why would dual exhaust boost-up the power a bit ?
The car I'm told has a single exhaust. I want to put duals on it.
I don't want to race the car. I just want a little bit more power.

One more questions please. The car I'm told has a three speed manual tranny.
Someone said that if I want a little more get-up-and-go put a T-4 with over-drive in it ~ Please explain why? And what and how does the over-drive work for more POWER.

At the ripe age of 65 I'm starting to get into cars. It never 2 late. :blob5:

THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL

SCHOONER :glasses2:
