Exclamation Serious question on a KB blower for 5.0!!

So i found a guy selling a Kenne Bell for real cheap. The only problem is it was part of an engine fire. So here are my questions.

He is cutting me a huge deal. Should I buy it, send it for inspection/rebuild?

Should I not bother at all?

Here are some pics of the blower and damage.

KB told me rebuild starts at $699 and goes up depending. the guy told me it does not spin and needs a new oil dipstick. waiting for KB to respond to me telling them that. i asked the guy for more and brighter pics, and he said he is also soaking it to clean the blower and lower intake.

Does not spin, awesome I would pass on that just from that piece of info. You can get superchargers for super cheap for those cars anyhow that actully work.

Maybe if he gives it to you for $4-500. Otherwise I would say skip. Who knows how much the case, etc. is warped from the fire. KB might take one look at it and say that it's not even worth rebuilding.

if it doesn't spin, walk away. It's completely destroyed. The heat damage on the case looks pretty severe too.

I see kits pop up for sale for Vortecs and Paxton units for very cheap. You just have to wait for one to pop up and grab it.
