Default Turbo vs. Supercharger

Ok I know there's millions of threads like this out there, but I got into an argument yesterday with another one of my friends over turbocharging my '08. So I know turbos have what they call "turbo-lag", but when you start out at say 2000 rpm like you would on the interstate or something is there really that much lag. I've never owned a turbo car just my '04 Cobra, but I have drove a sick-*** evo although I don't really remember any lag. What do you guys think? I love superchargers and I know I can slap one on the S197 and get around 500hp, but idk I'd like to have a turbo set-up and have a choice between turbo '08 and super-charged cobra.

Am I right on the lag or totally wrong?

Turbo lag is normally when people have a dinky 4 cylinder engine and a turbo the size of a basketball.

i dont think i have ever heared of turbo lag being a real issue on a V8.

If you size the turbo right, lag will basically be non-existent but it will still be there. That's why for instant power and throttle response, you can't beat a roots/screw blower. However, how about you do both? Nothing says you can't and having both cancels out the disadvantages of each one.

A correctly sized turbo will have little lag at all. Plus lag helps with traction out of the hole.

EXACTLY!! That's what I said, because of course he uses the "well, what if it's in a drag race?" and to me I'd like to have that little bit of lag for the traction. I know in the Cobra it's ridiculous to try and shift through first and second gear at WOT without smoking the tires and hopping everywhere...actually, it's impossible. I would like to have both, but idk it'll be a hard-though decision when the time comes.
