What Supercharger?
HI, im new to the post and i was wondering if there was anyone out there that could help me. I have a 03 gt vert. Im going to supercharger but i dont know which would be the best for me. I have 5K for the supercharger and install, i was thinking either the kb 2.1 non intercooled, or MPH mongoose kit. the car wont see the track much, i just want something fun to drive on the street. I have read many post about the kb2.1, just not the 6psi kit, so i dont know if it would be better than the mongoose kit. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well a lot of it comes down to opinion. Some people like the KBs cause it gives them that instant power and torque and I personally like centrifigul superchargers. They seem to get the most power, but they do feel like a turbo. The power really kicks on in higher rpms. A lot of people have the mongoose kit and love it. I think with a KB you might have a little more traction problems since you have the instant power. Hope this helps some. You will get a lot more replies.

The KB kit is near silent even at WOT, though it does make for better low end torque. I would go with the KB over a mongoose kit, but for near the same price.....you could have a turbo kit. That would be 10x better than KB or centrifugal IMO.

Bama,
Be sure and install full length subframe connectors before you install the charger. Even without added power, verts tend to twist and bend because of the engine torque. This leads to all kinds of leaky tops, doors that rub, doors dont shut right, etc... Very important. It sucks when 2 years down the road your top leaks because of something that could've been prevented. Maximum Motorsports FTW on subframes.

The suspension on the car has been re worked, that was the first thing i did. Does anyone know or heard of someone installing the kb non/IC? Ive seen the numbers on the web site just wanted to know what others have got with it. Which is more fun to drive on the street, kb or vortec?

I'd go with a roots type but your budget is a bit small. If you can find a KB or a Roush/Saleen kit then those are the easiest to bolt on and if you can get a good deal you'll forever be happy about the result.
Install needs to include tuning. YOU DO NOT TUNE BLOWER CARS THROUGH THE MAIL. Get they to a dyno shop.
Keep the boost at 6-8psi unintercooled. If you get the cooler, then 8-10lbs is more than sufficient for mooey phunn.

El Diablo, how do you like the procharger? heard a few bad things about them so i havent really looked that much. Also, is it even worth getting the kb non/ic? the price for the non/ic is in my price range, that is why i was looking at it.
