first wrong thread, moving......

Guys run up to 150shots on the stock bottom end and a handfull run 175's. For most people yours best bet is a good safe 100shot. If you have the ***** for more nitrous its up to you. I run a 125wet shot.

There is no best kit out there, pick one you like and go with it.

I have installed NOS,ZEX,NX,Compucar,Nitrous works, and a Dynotune kit. They are all the same to install minus the ZEX which has only 3 wires to hook up plus the fuel and nitrous lines.

I dont know if you know alot about nitrous or not so i will just toss some basic info at you.

1.you need to run one step colder plugs up to a 125shot, above that 2 steps colder is a good idea. NGK TR6's or possibly autolite 103's are good.

2. you need to run a bigger fuel pump if you go over 100shot or if the pump is old upgrading it is a wise investment.

3.never spray before 3k rpms or you will risk a nasty nitrous backfire.

Any ol' retail kit designed for the car will work. Zex are super simple. others... not so much. Keep it at or below 100hp, and get a tune on a handheld or a flip chip just for nitrous. You don't want to use it with any kind of a performance tune or mod that advances timing as that could lead to major complications.

Just an aside since your pal is a nitrous newb...ask your friend if he can afford a new motor. If he can't then he's not ready to play with power adders. Yes you can safely run nitrous/turbo/blower on a stock motor at reasonable levels for a long time. Yes you could possibly drive for 200K miles blasting nitrous once a day. Yes it's infinitely more likely that you'll smoke the motor on a power adder than off. Most of the blown motors from blowers/nitrous I see are on cars belonging to people that didn't give the added power and stress the proper respect.
