Default Vortech installed! Something fishy.....

Yes! I installed the S-trim kit today! Took me 8 1/2 hours but its done. No leaks, I had some alignment issues that ate up a little of my belt on one side, but I fixed it. Now I was sitting there idleing, and I start to hear a funny sound coming from the alternator/blower area. Sounded like something was ticking, or air was leaking, or something.... I put a screwdriver to my ear and listened to the heads, intake, block, everything, but the sound was definately coming from the alternator area. Pullies were fine, and the motor was running smooth. No CEL or smoke. I dunno what it was. I suspected that maybe the bypass valve wasnt opening, cause I routed the line to maybe a bad spot (egr valve vaccum line), so I took that off and ran it to one of the red vaccum lines coming off the intake elbow. I started it up and it sounded good again. I dont know what happened. I cant really hear the noise anymore, but it scares me. Im taking the car to a shop tomorrow to see if they hear anything. Car runs fine....

The blower whine sounds great! I have 93 octane in the car, and I cant hear any detonation. I havent pulled the plugs yet, maybe I should check them. I know everyone is thinking, "why is he driving it untuned?". Well basically cause I just strapped it on, and ive kept it below 2500rpms the whole time. I drove it around for maybe an hour and a half just listening to the whine and seeing peoples faces. Some ricers tried to race me, but I know better than to get into it.

Im taking it somewhere to be tuned very soon.

I see you went against what we all said.

Now you should go see what it does! You know that bad boy is gona rip! So go try it out on an empty road. Just let er RIP full throttle till the end of 4th gear. Powershifting would really add some excitment!

Ok, turns out the motor is fine and the sound I was hearing was just the grinding noise coming from the supercharger. Thats a big relief. I checked the plugs and they looked good. Looked like it was getting fuel. The whine sounds awesome! The car seems to run like stock and it seems that I have actually been keeping it below 2000rpm the whole time. Im taking some pictures tomorrow!
