Thoughts on North Korea's possetion of WMD and Bush's action?
So ever since the whole North Korea sucessfully building a Nuclear bomb a lot of things have ran through my mind, Such as why and what are their plans for them?. Just to clear stuff up, im not 100% clear on whats happening and kindof ignorant on the situation. But from what I know North Korea has nuclear weapons and bush is trying to avoid talking to them till he gets a bunch of nations to pretty much be on his side and be all up on north korea.
From what I know, North Korea has been trying to build nuclear weapons for years, Clinton was aware of them when he was in office but took no action to stop them.
Personally im a little worried to what bush is going to do towards trying to be the bigger man here and scare North Korea, My concern is him stepping on the wrong feet, trying to be the bigger man and try to do to north korea what he did to iraq. But my worry is that North Korea striking at us with a nuclear weapon if bush goes to far.
What are your thoughts on whats going on and whats going to happen?

north korea is all out for publicity. the more his people see him on international news the more they respect this man. as far as the nukes they have no way of launching them at other countries since they are still trying to figure out to hook them up to a rocket. (this is what i understand from the news) and if by some miracle they launch a attack on someone it will most likely be japan. then the north koreans will get fugged up. we train like its the real thing, we have to be ready for the fight NORTH.
that kum de *** whatever his name is, is all about money so like this one guy said they may end up selling their nucleur weapons to other nations. which would be very bad.

Yea, basically, they can split an atom. Ok. Sure. Can they strap it to a missle yet? Not that we know of.
Do they have a missle close enough to hit US soil? Hell no. Russia didn't, till they moved them into Cuba.
Now from what I know.. The Japs and the North Koreans don't get along too well. Good chance they'd hit them if they could. Which, would be a bad thing, considering the Japanese are mean bastards and don't have a problem from what I know with just killing everyting in the way.
NOW on to selling the technology.
Yea, this guy wants money, he wants to scare people..hes a tyrant, what else do you expect?
The possibility of him selling this technology, is a good chance. And a bad sign for us. These people in the mid east, do have MONEY. Their people might be starving, but they are rich as hell, considering all the OIL being pumped out of there. They have the cash to buy it, and they woudln't mind having it.
The other thing, these sorts of people don't really mind killing innocent people.
I can see somesort of.. nuclear standoff in the future with these people. Between them and another country..

Yeah I havn't thought of that, Thats really crazy when you think about it, How he can easily sell it to terrorist groups in the middle east and them attacking us for it. Now that I think of it that way, The smartest thing to do would be the US attacking north korea hard and getting rid of all their weapons now and stopping all production while they still cant really do much with them.

well i know those KIM JON II whatever rockets he had were expected to have the ability to reach halfway across the united states.
Personallt i agree with Stanger00.
Even a madman or an idiot would know that assaulting the USA with a nuclear weapon is signing yer own death warrant. America WILL retaliate with nukes if we are nuked, and even if he makes 4-5 nuclear bombs those things are mere firecrackers to what we possess.
Korea's biggest gamble in launching a nuke in an ICBM is the reliability of the ICBM. So far the technology he is using is subpar and unreliable, such as his KIM JONG II(i think that is the name of them) ICBMs..... on paper they can hit well into the USA.
However, his test launches went poorly.
North Korea just has an ego they are trying to fill. He is worried about the us and i doubt he will take a preemptive strike against the US. after all, we can blask north korea into atoms. at most he could destroy a US city or two. We would heal and survive, North Korea will become nothing more than entrys in history books.
China Backs North Korea right now, but even they are not too thrilled about KIM BUTTDONG's nuclear ambition, and i would be surpised if they would back him in an assault to the USA. China diddnt get to be the world class nation it did by ****ing with the wrong people. They dont want to mess with us any more than we want to mess with them. Korea would find itself all alone.

North Korea and Iran scare me....honestly, I don't support the war in Iraq at all, but if we were to go into Iran or North Korea I'd be perfectly ok with that. Iraq posed no threat at all to the US, but we KNOW Iran and North Korea are trying or have WMD's. It's hard to say if Bush is making a mistake by not even talking to North Korea, but I understang why he is getting other nations like China and Russia together before hand. I just get worried cause Bush is hard headed and doesn't listen to people that have any sense. Bush is all about flexing his muscle and not willing to even talk about it. It's almost as if he likes this crap. I'm not making an excuse for Clinton cause he should have done something about it also, but he was scared because of the "black hawk down" thing and didn't want it to happen again.
The scary thing is that if the situation gets worse and we have to take military action where are we going to get enough troops to fight 3 wars (Iraq, Afghanistan, and N. Korea)?? Can you say draft? Cause I don't think fighting North Korea will be easy. The only good thing is that I don't see the Koreans fighting like the ***** Iraq terrorists....The Koreans will fight us straight up and our military kicks *** at that kind of fighting, but they will make every person in their whole country fight so we'll have to get more man power.
It would be sweet if we could find out where they are hiding all the stuff and bomb it and be done with it.

I think this would be an easier war than iraq. Go in, cut off the head, eliminate the top anti-us leaders, get rid of the DMZ and integrate North Korea with the south and let the south take control with thier existing governmental structure. Restore Korea to be a single nation.....
then again.... im sure it wouldnt be that easy.

When they tested the missle in the ocean it went a good 10 ft and then died. Apparently they know how to make the damn bomb but are still having trouble using it. Hopfully they try to use it soon so that when they launch it it'll come back down on themselves.

Well.. heres a few things..
As far as that ICBM or w/e it is.. I'm honestly not afraid of a missle.
I live about 60 miles from Mojave AFB, and then theres China Lakes by me. I see multi colors in the skies some nights for our anti-missle tests. The colors look like someone put a magnet to a t.v.
And from what I understand, it makes that color when it HITS another missle.
They do this in the atmosphere or w/e over the desert.
As far as a conflict with China.. I could see a conflict happening. As for it happening with the military.. I don't think so.
Our military fights the most, atleast once every 10 years. Meaning, we have many troops who know combat. Chinas military.. well they use it for killing off their own people. Most of the time, its not even combat its just a masacre.
Big Army = Easy Target.
Before we destroyed Iraqs army, they had the 3rd largest. Look what happened. Our army was something like the 11th or 10th largest.
Just because you have alot of people in the military, doesn't mean a smaller one thats better equipped and better trained can't take you out.
NOW. As for N. Korea fighting us fairly.. its not always that way.
In WWII, the japs didn't exactly fight fair. They flew planes into ships.
Vietnam, they hid in the jungle and ambushed. The jungle was something we didn't know very well. They did.
It could very well be the same for N. Korea.
HOWEVER, it is said that S. Korea has the most..disciplined army in the world. Because they might be on our side, but they are ruthless and will literally beat you into shape. They are extremely mean, and carry guess what? American made weapons. (Many of them.)
If it came down to a military thing, we can't fight it right now. We are already in two different countries at the same time, and its looking pretty lousy. Going into somewhere like N. Korea or Iran while we are already fighting two wars, is a bad idea.
Heres a idea though.
We let Israel deal with the middle east.
They've wanted to do it, seeing as they don't get along with Iran, or anyone else over there. Not to mention, they are some bad ****'s who probably won't follow the rules like we do.
And if you think Israel isn't strong enough to fight these countires..they've done it before.
They took on.. Iran, Egypt, Palestine? or was it Pakistan, Libya, and some other country.
And they won, fairly easy.
Apparently I beleive we were talking about cutting off all imports/exports to and from the North Koreans. Is it going to hurt the leader? Probably not, seeing as he doesn't care about his people. Will it **** the people off? Oh yea. Hopefully we could get somesort of revolt against the government that way. All we have to do is get someone to help them out. And hope its not another..Bay of Pigs. ;/

Nice response. I guess worst case scenerio is North Korean dictator bombing us and then pussing out and go hiding in another country just like Osama did and like saddam tried doing. And then its a whole cat and mouse chase again. I guess when you really think of it North Korea is not much of a big threat, but i mean knowing retards are holding very powerful weapons is a not a nice peace of mind. How do you know they wont land in your city?, you get met?. So for me i think its just better to take it away from them before they do something stupid. Somewhat of like what happened with the Cuban Missle Crises, they took away all weapons before they actually really threatned us.

From my point of view as one of the older guys here, I see this as a face saving maneuver by Kim Jung-Il. Remember this is the orient where personal honor and "face" saving are very important. Almost as important to them as the judeo-christian ethics are to the average US population.
KJI knows he's a moron. He's been a spectacular failure as a leader upside his dad and he's trying to find a fight big enough that it will destroy him and land Korea back as unified country but show him as the lion of Korean resolve. He's starved his people into a multi-decade famine, threatened war with the US and Japan at every turn and left his own people as the worst off in all of asia. He's alienated every country on the planet except for Iran and Venezuela (ooooooh... there's some biggies) and now he's almost ready to start the big fight that will solve things over there once and for all.
We only stopped the fighting last time because China was sending 10's of thousands of "volunteers" over the border to fight for N. Korean forces while we were taking the fight to them in the north. The US and the allies couldn't hold off china (nor can any country) so a stalemate was reached. Now that china isn't going to be fighting for N. Korea and the US has no bones about slaughtering whole countries if needs be, we'll stomp them good and proper with a broad coalition in pretty short order.
but, hey... i could be wrong.
