It's a 1.3 inch drop over stock. Now I'm afraid to get a chin spoiler knowing that it'll probably scrape lol. I took it through some back roads last night with my dad driving his '65 we just finished and it felt ten times better than it did before. And it looks ten times better too.

Thanks for the compliments guys!!

What's a chin spoiler? How does dropping it make a difference?

Haha nice job stephen.

This is what I'm talking about. Since it's dropped and I live in Missouri where pretty much 90% of the roads suck ***, if I hit a slope too hard it might drag on the chin spoiler. For example, on the Cobra when we dropped it the exhaust and front chin started to drag.

The chins for your body style are so damn expensive, I'd hate to pay that much and end up scraping it. If your roads are pretty bad I'd think about it. Iv'e scraped my chin and my cats once since I dropped it, ******* sucks and just ruins your day lol. Speed bumps and gutters are the problems for me, not so much the roads.

Yea I know. My exhaust tips are so huge the already drag on my buddy's driveway because it has a huge dip between the road and where the concrete starts. The roads don't bother me too much, but there is all those spots where they "fix" the pot holes by filling it in, which always works soooo damn great. That's all I'm worried about.

I ripped the chin off of the Cobra before and ohhhh boy was i pissed lol....it does ruin your day. And that was the day of the 40th anniversary mustang show lol. Great timing huh...

Looks great, 08Mustang...Did you install the springs yourself, or have them put on. I am just wondering how hard it was to do, as I just ordered lowering springs for mine from Roush. Nice ride, man!

I hate it when you're trying to get home and you can't fly over the speed bumps. Your car is probably a lot lower then mine though. How low is yours?

That would **** me off too. I was out driving my SUV one day just having fun and I believe I some how wrecked my 4X4 skid plate, that pissed me off. The only thing I don't like about them fixing the roads is when they don't do it right.

No I installed the whole thing myself. The front and rear sway bar, new C&C plates, and the struts, shocks and springs. It only took me about four and a half hours, but surprising as this may be I work on cars almost everyday so I guess it takes me less than usual because other people were flipping out that it only took me four hours.

It's not hard at all. Get the McPhierson (sp?) strut tower tool and you'll be set. An extra pair of hands would help a lot. I didn't have anyone, but I wish I did afterward. Don't be intimidated by it lol....

Thanks for the response. I am fairly mechanically inclined, but was concerned more about the front springs. I am lucky in a way though, as technically, the car could sit on jackstands for a couple months as it is not my DD. At the same time though, I just moved in not long ago, and the garage is trashed- and will be til I get some shelves built. Right now, theres hardly room to change your mind out there. Wheres a good place to look for the strut tool?

At any rate, I'll get them on somehow. Im envious of the new Mustang, and the already impressive list of mods. Simply a beautiful car, no doubt about it!

Do the S197's have MacPherson Struts? Didn't know they changed to them.

Thanks! I got my tool from O'Reilly, but almost any automotive place should have it. We had to go to the counter to get ours. When you get it though make sure it looks sturdy, because you don't want something to slip off and have that spring pop off. When taking the springs off just make sure to keep each side of the tool directly across from each other and to keep tension equal between the two. I used an impact wrench to tighten mine down, just switching from side to side until it broke lose. If you could find anyone to help, at least just to break the springs lose, it would help a ton. Good luck!! I can't wait to see what it looks like afterwards!

Looks great! I'd love to lower mine, but with SLP longtubes/cats I wouldn't have much clearance and that would be a bad idea in the area where I live. So lowering is out of the question for me.

Are those the Ford springs?

Yes, it's the FR3 Handling pack actually. Fits like a charm. If you have shitty roads I'd be afraid with the longtubes too....sorry man.
