if it were installed the other way, it would be angled towards the back, and give a more road race feel to the shifter. i know the picture is a roush shifter, i just couldn't find a good hurst picture.

I guess it just seems like the shift **** would be aimed too far down. It looks alright the way he has it installed. Would that type of part be possible to install backwards... say if... ... Leonide was a dummy??

It only looks backwards with the shift boot on, because it looks like it could be swiveled. However, if you look at it with the boot off, you see installing it backwards would place it up against the console.

94-04 shifters look so dang ugly. They are so huge. The stock ones remind me of a babys arm. without a hand. and its a black baby.

automatic with the j-mod. 4.10 gears.

had to throw in the 4.10 gears to make me not sound like a homo for having an auto.

it would not be possible to even install it the other way 'round. and i plan on getting a second shifter boot console thing and having it custom sewn to where it looks like it was made for it, eventually. i also replaced the stock radio deck with a Sony Xplod deck. i like it.

Its for auto cars where you mod the valve body in the tranny to allow fluid to flow faster for firmer and faster shifts. This makes the tranny run cooler and makes it stronger by allowing more pressure on the bands. You can also bark 2nd gear and sometimes 3rd too which is fun.

I thought it was backwards too lol....All the Hurst shifters I've ever seen installed were the "Rock Crusher" style where it looks like the Roush shifter did. I like yours too though.
