a guy i know has it and HATES it compared to the stock one. he used to run consistent 13.0's-13.2's with DR's in his 07 then switched to the hurst shifter and **** and can only run a best of 13.4....
from waht i have heard from the S197 guys i talk to the MGW shifter is the way t o go.

I've heard nothing but good things about the MGW short throw. They're a bit pricey at almost $200, but if I'm not mistaken, they're guaranteed for life. I wish i could get one. I have a short throw in my car now, but it was already in when i bought it, and I'm not sure what kind it is, but i don't like it. It has no kind of position adjustment. Eh, oh well. Maybe one day. Other things more important right now, like gettin my ****** 4.10's installed!!!

+1. I have the Roush shifter and love it. I've never heard anyone using the FRPP short-throw, but most FRPP stuff isn't the best bang for your buck.

I'd get an MGW if I were to do it again. But my Roush was a present so I had no choice.

Its between the MGW and the Pro Shifter right now. For some reason I keep going back to the Hurst though. Maybe its just the name.

Hurst is great. Sometimes the short throw can throw people off at the beginning, as one needs to get use to the self-centering aspect of it. Nothing like the real muscle car look of the chrome Hurst stick and white ball.

I feel ya, missouri is in the same boat right now. Gotta get some warm weather so I can get the rest of my brakes in and so I can order the rest of my parts.

Even with a jet heater in our garage I still freeze my *** off.

fox body Hurst shifter handle & ball mounted on a Pro 5.0 short throw shifter. that Pro 5.0 has been the best driving modification done to the car

Thats how it is here and I'd rather not freeze just to get that short throw on. Its a nice day today though. Just to lazy to turn wrenches I guess. Lol, maybe next week.

Any S197 drivers on here with the Pro 5.0 Shifter? I can still go back on the Hurst and I'm still thinking about the Pro....

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Got the shifter on today and it is a HUGE difference. Very firm and precise shifts. I love it so far.

The handle is actually longer than stock by maybe 2 or 3 inches. I'll post a pic tomorrow so you can see it better. It takes a little getting use to but I like it. Very pleased.

Yea the stock one mine came with was about 2-3 inches longer too. I took it out and put the stock handle back in there, but with the new shifter housing. Now its hella short, but i like it that way.
