That's a different round lazer. 7.62 NATO is a high power rifle round, it's 7.62x51mm which is used in the M14, and some support rifles and sniper rifles. The AK47 and the like fire 7.62x39 which is a shorter cartridge with less powder behind it. It has a lower muzzle velocity than 5.56 NATO but has much more kinetic energy because of the mass of the projectile. Because of it's physical properties it has a greater ability than the 5.56 round to pierce armor and objects and maintain it's integrity and moment. The 5.56 round just shatters on impact.

The 5.56 round however can travel a much further distance with accuracy because of it's high velocity, it is also a much lighter round which allows a soldier to carry more of it.

Eh. I don't know much about guns and ammo anyway just that my cousin who is in the army said if a guy was after your with a AK you needed alot of **** between you and him to feel safe but after the first few rounds he is not likely to hit you if hes going auto. Thats when you "make him holy"

Thats pretty cheap, around me they are going for $700 before tax. The garands are $800-1000(They didnt look as nice as yours either). I was just at a couple stores yesterday looking for some more guns. Everyone is sold out of AR lowers also. Anynoe know where I can find one? Nice job on the stain too, makes me want to redo mine.

Thats supply and demand though. As the demand increases for these weapons and the supply is staying the same, the price will go up. That is, until they increase production of firearms and the market hit equilibrium again.

I know, it's just funny how people assume something is going to happen to the gun market, when in reality they have no idea. The free market makes me chuckle, I will never get involved in that ****.

Nice to see another forum member who isn't firearm-retarded..haha. Thanks, sorry I can't help you with the AR15 lowers though, AFAIK every online store is sold out of them and the waiting lists are backed up until spring 09.

Yeah, he's not in office yet, but he has made it clear that it's one of his top priorities to reinstate the ban. Democratic majority in the house, major anti-gun nut as speaker of the house. Clinton did it, what makes you think Obama won't? He definitely will, maybe not in the first year of his presidency but he will, and the bill they are trying to pass is MUCH worse than clinton's.

I found one today, the stores last one. I'm picking it up tomorow to start my 6.8 build. Yea it cant hurt to be prepared anyway. I really need to turn in my pistol permit application ASAP.

Dual magazine clamps came in today. All it needs now is a better pistol grip then it will be ready to slay zombies.

It's wood, but there's some kind of coating on it.
