My new toy

Haha, it really gets to me when people have such a bad perspective of AKs..yes, they're used by terrorists around the world to kill professionally trained soldiers, but they are probably the most iconic firearm ever made and have survived over 60 years and continues to be a match for the most technologically advanced small arms. It's one of the most reliable weapons to this day and is definitely a gun to be respected, I'm glad I have one.
I mean hell, why do you think insurgents and terrorists/revolutionaries use them? They're so damn good. They wouldn't have the same luck with the AR15 because they would actually need to regularly clean it so it functions, don't need to do that with an AK.

LOL, is that a joke?
If you were behind a cinder block wall and were shot at by a 5.56 from 100 yards, it wouldn't even scratch you. 7.62x39 would break through the block intact and **** your day up.
Haha, when I get those the thread name will be "new toy for me and my lover steeda97"
Baby.

It was way too much, the smart side of me wanted to just wait until they came back in stock online, where they're $400 before shipping and FFL charge. But I have a feeling if/when they restock they'll raise the prices. It was $550 before tax so $595 total. About $200 more than I was hoping..but hey...

Sure. I was just looking for an excuse to use that .gif, I've had it on my computer forever...just been waiting for the moment to use it.
And for someone who goes shooting every couple of months, you've got quite the collection.

Haha, well not all of the rifles in that photo are mine personally, the M1 Carbine on the top and the M1 garand 2nd from the bottom are mine. The others belong to my dad and brother. I also have a Yugoslavian M24/47 mauser (commie K98 ripoff), and a Ruger 10/22. I'd go shooting more often but it's just too damn expensive. A trip to the shooting range with friends usually ends up using $100 of ammunition. I like to collect guns, Plan on adding many more in my life time.

Haha..we have....a few. 2 SKS's, 2 .22's, 2 bolt action rifles, 2 M1 Garands, 3 M1 Carbines, the Ak47, a Ruger P95 pistol. You're all invited to my house in event of a zombie apocalypse. Haha

in my house we have a **** ton of guns...
My roomate has an R700 chambered in .223 (5.56 nato)
I have my 597 .22 and a S&W .22 revolver
My dad has a .44 revolver, a .69 flintlock pistol, a .50 muzzleloader, two S&W 12 gauge semi auto shotguns, a 16 gauge nonspecific make break barrel shotgun, a browning .22 lever action, and a marlin 30-30 lever action.
That last 30-30 is like an AK round, just a much heavier load.

Get some pics of those goodies man. . If I wasn't able to find an AK yesterday I was planning to snag a Mossy 590A1.
Going to refinish the wood with a dark walnut satin stain. The receiver is painted and not blue'd, The finish is pretty weak and scratches easily..I'll probably blue it eventually but for now it's alright, AK's are supposed to look worn out anyway, heh.
