04 cobra spoiler
I got the spoiler off of e-bay, impulse buy since it was the right color but it turns out that it is a bit more scratched up then the seller described.... oh well. I installed it on the GT trunk lid so I'm going to just have the spoiler repainted next summer when I have the old holes filled and painted. Any idea how much that should all cost?
I also just picked up a '98 Wrangler so now that I won't be putting so many miles on the Mustang I have many more plans for next summer. I would also like to do some blackout taillight tints now that I won't be driving it every day. Not too happy with the info that the tails may melt and I have a feeling that PA's finest may not overlook the tinted tails.....

Are they actual scratches or just deep swirl marks? As a test, run your fingernail over the "scratches" and see if your nail gets caught. If not (or even so), run out to a local auto store and grab a bottle of Meguiar's Scratch-X. Really work it into the spoiler and buff off. Will probably help a lot.
If you need to repaint, save yourself some money and sand it yourself. My guess maybe $50-100 total to have it painted.
I have to get my front bumper and fender repainted. I'm sanding it down myself and the shop is only charging $300 for paint.

It is mostly light scratches that will buff right out but there is chipped paint right on the upper edge of the spoiler. It's nothing huge but you won't miss it if you get up close. Otherwise I am very happy with the spoiler, I just need to eventually order the correct Cobra wiring harness for the 3rd brake light as I have done some creative wiring for the time being. It won't be any time soon but eventually I hope to pick up a set of the Cobra mirrors and then I will be pretty much done with the cosmetics on this car. The only other thing I have considered is a carbonfiber cowl hood but I'd rather wait on a good bit of performance mods before I put a big cowl on there.
And the Wrangler is a hell of a lot of fun, picked it up just a few weeks ago so I've only had 2 chances to drop the top on it. So now I have 2 cars that I will be blowing every paycheck on....

I have got to get one of those spoilers! Love it, just wish it would cover the holes from my current spoiler so I wouldn't have to get a new trunk or have holes filled on my current one...Anyway, looking good.

Thanks for the compliments, for the price I wouldn't definitely say it was worth it but due to ease of install and not having to get it painted I'm pretty happy with it.
Yellowstang, really looks good with the Cobra mirrors. Nobody ever seems to do that mod, I'm sure mostly because they're ridiculously expensive but I for one love the look, really sets it off.

As requested, a few shots of the Wrangler. Sorry for the quality, just took a few quick before it got any darker out. And one side shot of the spoiler but I'll have to get a better shot of it sometime this week.
As for the performance mods, the only thing I'm dead set on at this point is 4.10's. I plan on doing them first thing come summer assuming I can find a good shop anywhere near southeast PA. I plan on getting a new midpipe also as the SLP didn't last very long once I put on the H&R supersports, damn road work... thing hangs way too low. I think I might go with an H-pipe this time for the tone but I'd rather do gears before coming up with the money for another catted midpipe. Other than that everyone always seems to regret doing all of the little stuff rather than just saving for a supercharger so now that I'm happy with the looks I may attempt to hold off and eventually do it right and get a mongoose KB setup. I'm sure plans will change as they always do but we'll see.

You could get a little touch up paint from your Ford dealer. If it's bare metal showing now, I would at least touch it up with paint to prevent any contamination that could eventually lead to rust. I'm sure it won't ever get that far, but better safe than sorry.

Luckily neither the trunk lid or the spoiler are metal so I don't have to worry about any rust. I figure I can blow some money on touch-up paint and do an awful job filling in the chipped area or just deal with it and wait till I can afford to have it painted professionally.

Also, for anyone considering doing the cobra spoiler it would be helpful to know that it doesn't just plug right into the GT's wiring harness. Unfortunately I didn't do quite enough research prior to buying it to know that. You can however do some creative wiring to the existing harness and the LED brakelight on the Cobra spoiler will work but I'm not an electrician so I'm still a bit worried something is going to end up burning up. I just don't feel like spending the money on the correct harness right now but I was able to hook it up without cutting any of the existing wires. So it's a temporary fix till I take the time to do it right. I only found 2 install writeups on the net and neither explained it all that well.
