Talking Finished fiberglass enclosures!

The other thread was quite large, I figured a new thread with the finished pictures was in order.

Actually that is one of the reasons I did this, it actually gave me room in the trunk because before, I had two boxes sittin back there and I couldn't use the trunk at all lol.

Whatever I do for the tire cover will be sturdy enough to hold whatever I wanna throw back there.

It muffles the 8's!

Actually, its my old PPI amp, it's old and has sentimental value. It looked like poo from age so I powdercoated it silver vein before I sold my powder coater.

My god it still puts out some power though. mmm, Older amps > newer junk with extras like signal processing and built in crossovers, BLAH

If that thing ever blows up it will be put away in the closet, then I will have to find something new that isnt junk lol

That is so true, older Rockford Fosgate, Lanzar, PPI, and even Soundstream plus several other companies used to build rockin amps. But now they all are best buy and ebay specials. They still sell the stuff on the rep they built 10-15 years ago.

My buddy worked at a local stereo shop in high school and we hooked up 8 subs to a single Lanzar amp that was 1/2ohm stable. Todays crap couldnt do that unless you spend crazy money on the amp.

What's the difference between what you made and the ones that are painted and clear-coated? Could you sand, paint, and clear what you made? Sorry, I know nothing about fiberglass

If I would have taken my time on the finish work (smoothed em out, more bondo, lots more sanding) I could have painted them. Instead, I skimped out on the work and painted them anyway to see what they would look like. They were rough so I carpeted them.

I would guess...just from carrying them around, each one weighs 5 to 7 pounds unloaded, probably 10 pounds loaded. Maybe less.
