Yeah you can, and you can even cut out your piece in your hood with no problem. All you need is a dremel. And no, you don't need a liner, I've seen no problems with heat being an issue.

Seeminlgy heat? However, I know someone who has run without his for over a year. Paint hasn't been a problem, ever. I know tons of people who have been doing it. I myself, for 3 months?

I used a Duplicolor "import spray" silver. You can use any color as long as its that brand, I got it at Advanced Autoparts. Then you need to get the Duplicolor clear coat (color code: T125). You'll need (4) 5 oz. cans of the color of your choice, and (1) 11 oz. can of the clear coat. I did 5 coats of silver and 3 coats of clear!

Yup. Silver it is. What really makes the trim pieces is the clear coat at the end.

ok, so i just finished painting my trim. I used dupli-color ultra silver- color code T-191, I went with this color because its almost exactly the same as the import silver, but form what i could tell it has a more metallic look. which is what i wanted anyways because i already had the interior upgrade package from ford. also it comes in the big 11 oz can instead of the smaller 5 oz can and the bonus was i only needed one can and i did about 6 small coats on everything plus about 4 clear coats I dont have a dig. camera but im sure i can get a hold of one and i'll put some pics up. to me it looks awesome, but you guys wil be able to judge for yourself.
