Don't think I'd go quite that far, but here is what I did do to the wheels with Sonic Blue!

i really don't fully grasp the concept of functional so you're going to have to explain that to me haha. air goes through the holes. and the mesh came with the hood. i've been thinking about doing it to my side scoops too and maybe my grill. i'm not so sure about the grill though.

Functional = holes actually cut in the openings. How is that mesh held in the holes????
Do you know you're cowl rise? is it 2.5" or 3"?
How much was cost of install for you?

http://ccmustang.com/
that site has excellent quality/priced mesh grilles for scoops, main, and lower grille. I had all of them at one point, loved them.

I have the same hood. The vents just circulate air, there is no ram air set up. They have higher rising hoods but these are like 1.5.

So there's not actually holes cut through where you can see through.

This is the one I want to get.

yes, there is. Two nice size slots with a small mesh grill to cover them. Rain has never been a problem. And when you wash the car just dont point the hose towards the vents.

The rise in the hood is barely noticeable from the side.

so you do have slots then. Are they 1"? The hood I want is 3" cowl. I really like the rise that this sonic blue stang has of 2.5", so I think I'll go with the 3"

then yes it's functional, the rise isn't very much at all, and i don't know how much it costs to install, i had it put on when i wrecked it :wallbash:

i do like the rise on the sonic blue ones too, i wish mine was more noticable from the sides and such.

I like your hood since it's functional, but agree that it needs to be a little taller, so you can see it from the side. At least it's what you wanted, which is so much better than the stock hoods!

It will be different for a Mustang. I know that old Mopars with air grabber hoods were manual opening. I just thought it would be an interesting twist to the hood. I just like having a different look than others. I wouldn't say my Mustang is a show car so to speak, but I do like taking it to them. It was my daily driver for 3 years, but got a new job and have to travel a ways to work. So, I got a beater to put the miles and stone chips to. I still drive it in the evenings and on weekends. She's no traler queen!!

Thats exactly what I plan on doing to mine in 2 years. Have it be a weekend fun cruiser car. I'll get a new nice custom paint job, but yea.

I'm trying to do something different too this summer. Yea, everyone's got chrome saleen rims and saleen kits, but mine will be a little different :shifty:

To me, that is what it is all about, making the car yours. I don't want to look like all the rest. I want the car to stand out as unique and not just another Mustang with a body kit and chrome wheels. It looks like we both have the same idea

bingo. I still love that sonic blue, my old one was sonic, and my neighbor directly across the street has a sonic blue GT with 03/04 17" Cobra chrome rims. Everything else stock. It's awesome seeing my car on the left and his on the right when coming down the street,

A woman I just met the other week is totaly head over heels about Mustangs and has a GT of her own. She has a 99 Electric Green GT and looks to be in good shape and is totaly stock. She asked if I'd help her modify her's. It doesn't hurt that she's really hot! Being the gentalman that I am, I volunteered to help her out. Since she's single, I'm working the Mustang angle. She says she wants to go cruising once the weather gets better. Come on warm weather!!
