Randy have a question for you

no, not really. I keep my mail boxxes closed on the web-sites I have forums on, mostly because it fills-up so quick I just do not have the time to keep switching back and forth from mail box to forums. if you need to ask me something and you do not want to put it out in public, I could open-up my mail box for you, or you can call me here at the dealership.

I can just put it on here doesn't have to do with any Ford OEM part though. I already posted this question in another thread but I was going to ask your opinion also since you work with Ford and what not. Basically I have a 40th anniversary edition 2004 V6 Mustang. Which I'm sure you know the 40th anniversary edition has a 3.9L engine instead of the usual 3.8L. My question is will parts that are made for a 3.8L engine still work on the 3.9? I'm still looking into the K&N Generation II FIPK® Cold Air Intake. The guys on here figured it would make no difference that it shows up on the K&N website for 3.8L and not for 3.9L. So I figured I would send an email to be on the safe side. Basically I got a response from K&N that didn't help at all they basically said to use their "Search for products by vehicle" option which is what the whole question was about. This might sound a little confusing but I was just checking to see if you knew anything about this since my understand is the 2 engines really are not any different and even produce the same HP and TQ

forgot to add this.. this is what they said to me in the email.
"If a kit
is not listed specifically for your vehicle, it must be assumed that K&N
does not offer a kit for that vehicle."
Thats the only part that doesn't make sense to me because no brands have it specifically for the 3.9L and that would mean that you wouldn't even be able to put a CAI on it. So thats why I'm just figuring it will work but wanted to get one more opinion.

ok, for the most part both engines have/use the same parts.
some of the short block stuff is different between the 2 but heads, intake and a few other parts are the same.
now on the air filter, you can use the one listed for the 3.8 as both engines share the same intake set-up.
