Upgrade advice please!
I am the proud owner of a 1998 Mustang GT 4.6L that is basically bone stock besides a Flowmaster exhaust and a Steeda clutch cable. I would like some advice on what I should do next. Here is my plan. I would like to drop the car 1.5" (Is that enough) and put on some 17X9/10.5 Cobra R rims with 24mm offset (I was wondering if 24mm is sufficient to make the tires stick out of the wheel wells to make it look a little beefier. I also would like to make an under the hood modification and am wondering what I should do. I originally wanted to go with a $89.00 K&N Cold Air Intake but was recently told that a gear upgrade would get me more bang for my buck. What do you guys suggest I do to my Mustang? Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you for your time

Frogerman2000,
I have a 1997 GT, so basically our cars are the same. It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend into this car if you want to mod it, I'm telling you now it is addictive. First off, yes you should definately do a CAI, any brand will really do becuase they are all close to the same gains. This can cost anywhere from $80 - $200. Second, yes gears are an awsome upgrade, yes the actual gears are cheap but expect to pay a decent amount for install. But if you want to feel an improvement with your vehicle, I recommend you do gears, 4.10's for auto and 3.73's for manual. Also, since you already have a catback exhaust, a midpipe would help. Either an H or an X its really up to you. This can be fairly expensive and run close to $300-$400 though. Since you already have rims for some looks, a hood would look pretty sweet too. If you're planning on dropping it 1.5 inches I highly recommend the Eibach Pro Kit. I just had mine installed a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be any happier.
Good luck with everything and post up if you have any questions!!
