Default installing x pipe

I have a pypes o/r X pipe I have that I would like installed on my 03 GT. Is this something that I should try to do myself? Have any of you guys done this install before? or should I leave it to the more experienced mechanic. If it's not that difficult, what is everything I need for the install? Thanks.

yeah, my local shop wouldn't do it, but I know of one that would, but I would rather save money and do it myself if possible.

Yeah a guy I know built himself a ramp for his cobra and he put mine on it and had the x done in an hour or so. The worst part is screwing the stuff in where the headers end. You gotta streth real far in a small space and twist...not fun

Man... I can only imagine. Will regular ramps work on a lowered stang? or do I need a custom ramp?

Dude im in the same boat as you except im waiting on my x-pipe from pypes, yeah i have read a lot of stuff about doing it yourself and it doesn sound very hard. when did you order it and when did you get it? I'm hoping to get it by saturday. Here are some links to some helpful sites on installing the x-pipe and a sound clip of the pypes o/r x-pipe. what is on the back end of your GT now , flowmaster, mac, slp borla?

Right now, I have some welded flowmasters on the rear of my stang. I ordered my X from MT and it was drop shipped. It took at least a few weeks for delivery. There was some sort of delay. It made it safe and sound though. Thanks for the clips and links it is really helpful. Good luck with your installation...

I dunno, but this guy custom mae his ramp for his 01 cobra so naturally mine fit perfectly. But I don't see why you couldn't do it with 4 jackstands rasied as high as possible in the 4 corners of your car.

I took mine to a shop that installed my bassani offroad x pipe..was worth the $100 only took them a hour with a lift...the reason it took a hour was because it was a 30 minute drive..I bet some stuff was hot lol.
