Default Installing a x pipe

I just got my new bbk x pipe today and it didn't come with gaskets. My question is do I need one for the driver side? I know I need to put a new one on the passenger side, but the way the driver side looks it doesn't need one. I haven't started to remove anything from the car so I don't know for sure if it takes one. Anyone got a clue? Thanks

nope none needed for the install of the x pipe only on passenger side other than that just bolts and bolts. install both ends that go to the headers first loosely then tighten then move on to the rear end that connects to the mufflers last. Just fyi in case u didnt know. Makes it tons easier.

Also before you ever go to install it. Get under the car 2 days or so before hand and spray the **** out of the two bolts on each collector that hold the stock H-pipe on with WD40 or some other lube. Trust me you will want to do this.

Thanks guys. I was going to start on it today but is raining pretty hard all day. I think I'll pull the car up on the ramps and spray the bolts down and wait til this weekend to take it apart.

If you already have wd40 use it but if not buy Pb Blaster instead it works a lot better than wd40. You can get it at auto zone.

You don't NEED the passenger side gasket....I just installed a buddies x-pipe and his looked fine so we just left it, and no leaks either. It's just a safety thing.

I just needed a longer extension to get out away from car a bit more, and I got it all off now. Like all my projects I had to buy more tools. One day I'm going to have every tools out on the market. Does this happen to any one eles or am I the only person who buys a new tool for every job I do?

Most things I've done require nothing more than basic hand tools, but there have been some where if I didn't have the right tool the job would have never gotten down. Luckily my dad has a pretty big tool cabinet that he's been filling from working on cars since he was young. I head to his place when I plan on working on the car because my tool collection is nothing special lol.

It's all done now and damn that is one LOUD car now. You know I'm loving it to. It sounds bad *** from start up to all the way up. That definitly makes the flowmasters on it sound better. They rattle pretty good between gears, and wind out 2nd let off it pops like a mother

Glad your liking it. Enjoy the new mod man, and it should feel even better that you did the work yourself.

Except the busted nose I got from tightening the back bolts there wasn't a whole lot of blood on this install.

Yeah I take my time on installs too. Theres no rush. Be carefull man, hitting your self in the nose while under there isn't part of the install lol. Make sure you watch your knuckles too. Iv'e seen too many ppl bust their fingers up when breaking bolts loose. Just make sure you have the right hand placement, face placement in your case haha, and your good to go.

hey seanstang i noticed ur running an o/r H with mac LTs, just curious as to which mufflers your running with that because i've been looking into running that but cant find the right muffler set up. I don't want anything raspy.. and ive heard sixxers it tends to happen often?
