whatever it was built for... most motors these days can deal with 5w-30 or 10w-30.

Anybody here ever bought anything from rpm outlet? I ordered patriot stage 2's from them 3 weeks ago and they still haven't shipped.
I read some pretty horrible things about them after I placed my order. If I lived in Texas I would stop by and put my boot in someones a$$.

long ship times, ok customer support, decent prices. I bought my very first diablo chip from them. The tune sucked but they fixed it free.

Thats surprising, I wouldn't be all that worried about it but the snow is gonna start flying here in Ohio before too long and I wanna get to the track after the h/c install.

give the heads a good month or two. I wouldn't worry. Patriot had a problem with some bad valve guides but they're really sensitive to reputation and take action to fix problems pretty fast. The worst of the problems were with guys that were just being kind of uncooperative or expected too much. Patriot heads power some nasty fast cars with good reliability. If you have problems, expect to be responsible for everything except parts. labor is on you.

im havin trouble gettin the 5.4 to drop in.. i put the mounts on the engine and started lowering it in but the mount bolt dont seem to be goin in the right bolt hole. it keeps wantin to go in the long egg shaped hole on top.. is it supposed to go in the perfectly round bolt hole on the bottom for sure?

They go in the slotted holes. The round hole is for the little stubs on the mounts.

question:

Can PI intake be made to bolt on to SVO heads like they can be made to fit nPI heads?

I can think of a rather brutal usage for the 5.4l HPS intake.

Just need to incorporate a PI-NPI adaptor into the 5.4 adaptor plates. That or you can have those heads ported to resemble PI ports as well as having the water ports welded to match. The latter works w/ NPI heads but I'm not sure if that can be done w/ the SVO heads though I'm sure you could.

not talking adapter plates. i'm talking the 5.4l 2v version. putting a 4.6l intake on a 5.4l SVO would be a waste of big $$ heads.

i was thinking that since some people plug the water ports on PI intakes, that i could do likewise withe the HPS intake, maybe with a tig since the HPS is an AL piece.

But using an intake that doesn't match the ports is a waste too so if you go that route, make sure the heads are ported to match.

of course, I should have been more specific. I thought you were saying to modify adapter plates, but if HPS puts that intake into producton there will be no need.

i have used that intake on NPI. just use pi gaskets and be generous with the silicone on the water neck.

Yes, 2 sets of intake gaskets are necessary and don't forget to silicone the one bolt hole on each side.
