OR, One of you with a spare front cover could volunteer to send that to HPS and I can send stanger00's bracket to them (they'll be returned unharmed), have them make a new bracket and send us back our parts. Bob did express interest.

EDIT: Talked to bob. Interest is definitely there. We're working on seeing if it's workable. What do you guys think is a fair price for 20lbs of precision machined aluminum? These are a limited run sorta item so the pricing will probably not be super cheap (like in the 100-150 dollar range). I'd think about $350 would be about the max that would be reasonable. That would probably be an acceptable return on the R&D with a run of 10-20 units sold over a year.

1996: I had the same experience with vortech. They're kinda dicks about it. Had the same experiece you had with torktech too. Hmmmmmm.... Oh yeah, and I have takers for 10 of those other things if we ever decide to make em.
I can get you those dimensions tonight if you'd still like them, i can either make a diagram or whatever you needed me to do (Think i have the 99 cover).

I would definately pay 250-350 for one if HPS decided to make one, or depending on how much modification is required for a 96-99 or 00-04 bracket I might just do it myself.

Old question I searched and could not find the answer. I will have to run the Adapter plates. My question is are all adapter plates the same? If I can get new Pro Product adapter plates for $239 and used R. Racing adapter Place for $250 which would be better. Also are there any other?

No they're not the same. Reichard are machined billet and pro-prod/mmr/etc... are cast. The cast units are a bit softer so you need to not overtorque the intake fasteners. Reichard is prettier. Both work about the same.

I beg you to reconsider your intake solution choice. If nothing else at least start saving up for a HPS. Budget constraints hit everyone but still, plates suck.

Boost drops off after 4000 down to only 10 psi at 6000 RPM. That's where my last 20-25 HP went. Port job will fix that.

If you are using plates, check ebay. Every so often the ProProducts guys put a set on there for 150. Thats what I did.

desktop dyno doesn't seem to take boost fall-off into account very well. I put in a correct belt ratio and all that too. You definitely got your reason though. When I drop the boost to 10lbs on the sim it's within just a few hp of your numbers.

Hmm, pretty cool to see it can be that accurate. Again, this was a Mustang dyno. They show ~10% less than a Dynojet.

I have not personally experienced that. I keep reading convincing reasons why I should but to date it has not been the case for me. (NOT calling your statement into question, I'm not in a position to)

I've taken my car to a mustang dyno, then to a dynojet and then to a different dynojet all on the same day and it's been within just a hp every time. The mustang/load-cell dyno's are very susceptible to crappy operators munging the results. Inertia dynos seem to do better in shall we say less experienced shops.

There is zero relation from Mustang Dyno to DynoJet. You will hear people tell you oh they read 5 to 15% lower but that is not true at all. I have seen mustang dynos read 5% higer, 10% higher, 5% lower, the same a s a dynojet and 10 to 12% lower. It all depends what mustang dyno and what dynojet. **** I have seen Dynojets in the same area read 5 to 10% different.

nice to see the numbers horspla. since i have stock cams and 10 psi i will probably see quite a bit less power.....i wanna get to that 450 hp mark....my friends place sells race fuel now so maybe when i get it dynoed ill see what see makes and if the number are just low enough ill add a 50 shot with a few gallons of race fuel.

worse comes to worse and she blows ill just have to get some rods and prep a 5.4 block and i can be fully forged....although i would like to wait till i have some trickflows before i build a engine.

if i do it the engine will hardly ever see the nitrous.....just want it so i can handle my own against the ls guys

The real sad thing about this is seeing recent results of the new 5.0L Coyote engine. A good friend of mine just had his car re-tuned with CAI and GT500 mufflers only and managed 430 rwhp / 410 rwtq all N/A

Did yet more work. Can you tell what neato thing changed in the pic below?

Name: 82f7dd8d.jpg
Views: 80
Size: 51.6 KB

I fixed the fuel leak and one of the coolant leaks and the vacuum leak.

I STILL NEED A THROTTLE CABLE AND THERMOSTAT O-RING BEFORE I CAN DRIVE IT! NOT FINDING ANY, ZOMG PLZ HLP! KTHXBAI

What changed? I installed the nitrous and fuel solenoids, routed the hoses and moved the nitrous bung in the intake pipe to the bend before the TB. Made a bracket to keep the fogger hoses nice and tight and clean. The solenoid bracket is mounted on the very top front cover bolt. Seemed like a good place at the time. Also got the power wire connected. I need to put an adapter block on my fuel rail and connect up the FPSS, then I need to put in the master arm switch and the WOT switch. I have it jetted for 75hp right now but I'm going to pop the 100hp jets in when I get home.

96-04gt. If there's a difference, mine's an 03. LMK cost and I'll get you paypal'd right away.

yeah, not feelin' so bad now huh. That 8lbs lower would make like 16-18lbs total boost. You did the same with 10-12.

Actually mine was less, but also less boost. Anyway, Red, I have a 03-04 Cobra throttle cable (slightly longer than stock GT cable) new. I think I paid $30. PM me your address and I'll send it to you. If you want it, then we can talk. It should work just fine for your app to my knowledge.

I agree the 5.0 Coyote is impressive but the only problem is I will NEVER allow one in the current body style to even come close to being parked in my driveway. The current body style is the UGLIEST Mustang produced ever; we call it the "Cherry-Blossom (because it looks like HONDA "mounted" it in the rear) Mustang with the Chevy Camaro hood".

They put that motor in a nicer body style (why cant they just resto a 69-70 body style with the current hips and be done with it ... ???) and I'll be all over it ... (as long as they chunk the WORTHLESS plastic intake manifold).
