box stock with just a decent intake setup and a good tune you can see 250-270rwhp and 330-390rwtq. Gotta untrain yourself from looking at dyno numbers though. They're for tuning. HP is for bragging rights, tq wins races.

Anybody got pictures of the HPS 5.4L intake in a stang yet? Do you have to clearance the hood as muchas you do with the RR adapters? I am hoping to be able to reuse my steeda strut tower brace now that i have drilled holes for it. I think i have the procharger adapter plate figured out that is all thats keeping me from starting on a 5.4 swap. I am going to the Dyno to get good numbers with the procharger on the 4.6 so i can post some comparison numbers once the 5.4 is in. Anybody else got a centrifugul charged 5.4 yet?

Nice. He was able to get some pretty good numbers from that low boost setup on stock internals.

Default numbers

ya, he did seem to have pretty nice numbers for such a low amount of boost, and money in the setup.... good thinking there on his part....

Anyone pick up a Navi engine and have the cams laying around?

I am going to run Navi cams until i get my turbo system complete and installed, then i will drop in the custom grinds...

Hey, is it possible to put a 5.4 into a foxbody. Im not that knowledgeable when it comes to engines, I know some but not a lot of the technical stuff which is why I'm here. To learn. Though I have a 5.0 resto parts mag and they sell 5.4 litre gt500 engines in there for like 15,000. Not that it's what I'm thinking about right now but I thaught about down the road would that be possible. I mean I remember when people were dropping 03-04 cobra engines in foxes, is it possible with the 5.4 litre gt500 engine

Default Cams

Or do you all think GT500 Cams would be better?? its just a temp fix for about 6 months or so tell i get the turbos put on... the gt500 cams would be new atleast....

Any thoughts??

And i think you could drop a 5.4 in a Foxbody.. the width would be the only question i think... cause you can always get a taller hood

Alright man, thanks for the info. I think that would be about the sickest foxbody if it did

yes, that would be very interesting plus when you buy that GT500 crate i believe it comes with a PCM, and the wiring harness... I think i would just swap the cams out and up the boost a couple PSI, and let it go
Would be pretty impressive

GL if you go throug with it...

Thanks man, yea Id sure love to do it, and I'm actually thinking about doing it this spring. If I do I'll be keeping the progress posted. I think it would make the fox a hell of a lot faster than the actuall gt500 because the weight difference.

Just bought a Navi engine yesterday, it should get shipped Tuesday. I'm putting Cobra heads and cams on it so the Navi's are going up for sale but I'd like to sell the cams with the heads. PM me if you're interested.

I would fully recommend sticking with the stock Navi cams, turbos don't need a lot of cam and why **** away your drivability? It'll cost ~$1200 for custom cams when you can just turn the boost up 1 psi or so for the same hp gains with more torque gains and no loss of drivability. GT500 cams may work, I don't know, but in typical blower cams don't make great turbo cams.

You'll need an aftermarket K-member w/ Modular mounts. Also, a trans that has a bellhousing using the Modular pattern. A TKO w/ a blow-proof housing should be a good choice, or a T56 from a 03-04 Cobra. In addition, you will need to get a new comp and accompanying harness to run the engine since the EEC-IV comp won't be able to handle the COP ignition (unless you use the older EDIS-8 system). Other than that, the swap is the same as any 96-04 car. Personally, I'd go w/ a EFI 351C or even a EFI 400, just for ***** and giggles (especially since that swap is a bit less involved than a 5.4).

Those are looking real sweet so far! Cant wait to see what the final editions will look like. I like how you made the tubes clear around the steering shaft and not having to snake the shaft thru the tubes. I was thinking of fabbing myself up a set over the winter using flanges from FRPP shorties and 1.625" tubing. I dont think there is much need to go all the way to 1.75" like you did. From the results I've seen on 4V cars, 1.75 actually loses some power compared to 1.625

they're big tubes so guys with nitrous or blower setups can yeild the best peak numbers. We make so much tq I figured a little drop on the bottom end wouldn't hurt.

instead of gt500 cams use the ford gt cams. im not positive but almost sure they are the same cams in the high lift kit ford sells. you can get them for 500 dollars and and should work well with FI.

Yes.

And GT500/GT/Cobra R, just like how they all use the same heads, they also use the same cams.

The GT500 cams are not the same as the cams that are included in the Hi-lift (FR500 M-6550-T46) kit.

They are not the same. The GT500 uses the same cams as the 03/04 Cobras, Machs, Aviators, Marauders and all Navigators. The GT cams are unique to it and are also the same cams that Ford sells as an upgrade for the GT500 (not a good bang for the buck mod). The Cobra R cams are also unique and have a lot more lift and duration than all other stock 4v cams.

Also, the GT and the GT500 use the same heads and they were not used on the Cobra R, but the Cobra R heads are a lot different.

4V cams specs
Mach 1, 03/04 Cobra, Aviator, Marauder, Navigator
Intake: 184 deg @ .050/.394 lift
Exhaust: 196 deg @ .050/.397" lift
114 LCs

96-98 Cobra
Intake: Primary Lobe, 196 deg @.050/ .390 lift
Secondary Lobe, 206 deg @.050/ .390 lift
Exhaust: 196 deg @.050/ .390 lift
114/114 LCs

99/01 Cobra
Intake: 196 deg @.050/.392 lift
Exhaust: 194 deg @.050/.390 lift
114 LCs

FR500 (M-6550-T46)
intake adv dur 258 @.003/ 212 deg @.050 /.472 lift
exhaust adv dur 254 @.003/ 208 deg @.050 /.472 lift
109 LCs

GT Cams (actual as tested numbers, not Ford specs)
Intake: 189 @ .050"/.424 lift
Exhaust: 190 @ .050"/.448" lift
The centerlines are up for debate as this set tested at 122/118 but I think the Ford states the LCs as 114/114

With that, the 96-98 intake cams along with any of the exhaust cams would be best stock cams for a 5.4.
