The B heads are so plentiful and flow crazy, it would be more senceable to creat an intake for a "B" headed 5.4l.

Setup properly, the B heads on a 4.6l can net some great power in almost stock condition, at the risk of 8000+rpm's. I would think the "B" 4v heads would be more apt to the 5.4l just because of extra cubes. Yes porting these heads would be a nightmare, but why would you. They are flow monsters from the get go. Think of the potential.

it works out to a comparison of the market positions. B-heads just don't provide the sales potential that's needed to make HPS make money from it. After 3v, if there's market for it then 4v could be considered. There's just so much competition there already that it makes no sense from a business perspective.

There's just more 3v heads out there. Add in phaser deleting cam gears on some aggressive bumpsticks and some of the bodacious Livernois 3v porting and we might start seeing SOHC cars churning out 400rw.

3v would be pretty sweet, and a decently easy swap... but ive now gone to far into ym 4v to turn aruond on it... i got turbo manifolds and everything now... all i need is cams really... and make up my damn mind on that intake....

R3D and all others, great job on contributing to the further success of the 5.4

Audi, if you need anything on the turbo kit holor at me.... (i will to be building my own)

Will do SB. Speaking of turbos, do any of you have experience with blow-thru MAFs? I've never used one. That would simplify the bi-turbo setup a bit, by allowing me to run fewer pipes.

cams?? off the shelf or custom grind? i was thinking that the 4.6 cams would work fine but i want to check before i throw money into them. also since i need a new mass air so will a stock mass air work or would a bigger one and bigger injectors be in order? right now plan on stock bore stroke and compression. so im i hope to go with..stock motor some bolt ons and cams..plus a intake also.

exactly, and COPRACR has been a valued and longstanding member of this board. He's a stand up guy as far as I can tell and he's been a member for longer than most guys here. See ^^^

I'd say Hi-Tech stage 2's, Cushman stage 2's have the best reputation in 4.6 land for making power lately. Any cam you'd use in a 4.6 you can use in a 5.4. I and a couple others have done comp xe270's to good effect. They make really nice low and midrange and they have a nice top end gain. Your stock MAF will work fine, you'll want 24lb injectors to start and maybe 30# or higher depending on what else you do to it.

Call and order your HPS intake early.

5.4l 2v vs 4.6l 4v shootout!!?

anyone here with running 5.4l 2v's willing to participate in such a shootout. another board is having a 4.6l 4v vs 5.4l 2v debate and its pretty much the same debate as always, so i wont lay it out.

Someone brought up the idea a shootout to settle it.

I'd like to see it happen. that, or just post vids of you guys putting busses on your local 4v guys. either way should get the point across.

Default valve springs

Can I use stock valve springs with a set of copm cams 270's?? Stock lift is .510 and .530. I believe these are .550. I don't plan on revving it real high, it will be a daily driver. I am trying to keep costs down. If they won't work, what is the hot ticket?? I don't need anything trick.

Wow, so they took my idea for what would make a good 2V head. Though the chambers aren't hemispherical, they realized what canted valves will do. Those heads should be worth every cent.
