Default Tuners?

Well thinking of buying a SCT tuner but not sure on which one.Which one do you guys think is better and should I just go and get it dynoed or use the SCT tune?I'm also probally going to switch to 4:10's

Also how much of a difference will the tune make HP wise with my small mods? Will probally not do it till the end of the month or early next.

I have the SCT XCal 2 and it reads and clears codes and all that. Id say get that and mabye down the road take it to an sct dealer with a dyno and you can just have the program on your xcal. I gained almost .2 in the 1/4 mile by adding that alone with everything in my mod list but gears.

Worth the 400 bucks? Also, how easy is it to use?

I just told you the difference it made on my car.
Id say get it from modular depot because they are ford performance platform geniuses and you get free updates on your tuner for life.

i've got the diablo programmer and it took a little over a tenth off my e.t. when it was stock....
it will read and erase codes but the nicest thing on it is its data logging capability...and the program to upload it to your laptop from diablo is nice....very helpful if you are running on the juice or blown......

sct xcal 2 also has data logging. you can also buy something so you can tune multiple cars so you can get yours tuned AND the wives v6 tunes.

you've probably seen my story somewhere about my SCT Xcal2, I dunno so I'll tell it again lol.

Mods at the time of tune:
Steeda CAI
Accufab 75mm TB and plenum
Steeda Cat-back
SLP Short O/R X-pipe
SLP LTs

I had the car dyno tuned so I dunno how good the SCT tune is. I gained 13 RWHP and 22 RWTQ after the tune. And because I was running 20% lean when we fixed my A/F ratio I gained a lot more hp and tq downlow I love tunes, it seriously made the car feel like it came that way from the factory.

Ive herd that MPH has gained on some cars 10-20rwhp over hand held tuners They suppose to be very good at what they do? very good feedback from different people I've talked too! I think the SCT stuff is pretty good but the way to go would probably be a Dyno tune.

since we are talking about tuners and stuff...i have a question regarding the infamous sct chip....

i have a 99gt manual with drop-in kn filter and flowmaster catback( yeah i know im poor ). since the chip can have many options, besides the stock tune, can they detune this gt to lesser power for better MPG for commute/non-stalker mode/long a$s driving/etc because of gas price??? i want to have that kind of tune including stock, 93 octane/fierce mode, valet tune, etc.

just wondering fellas

the xcal2 can hold up to 4 different tunes. you can get it detuned if you want. your best bet is to just lay off the gas pedal keep the rpms at between 2k-2500 and you should be good. the only this that is cool about the chip is that you can change tunes with the turn of a little ****.
