Putting a 3v 5.4 in a 03 cobra
I have a 03 Cobra that has a blown engine. A friend of mine has a 5.4 3v out of a Lincoln truck with only 1500 miles, that I can get cheeeeap. So I know it sounds crazy, but I am going to put the 3v in place of my 4v, and get a intake made to put the charger back on, in the correct location. I have a buddy that builds race cars from the ground up, and he can build any intake you would like, and he is actually reasonable on his pricing. The reason I am posting this is to find out if anyone has ever done anything like this before? I figure it would be something that would be different and not just something you see everyday. And yes I am aware that I would need to build a better bottom end for it. Thanks for any help.

stop. just use the 5.4 block, call Reichard Racing and order their 4v adapters. SLap your 4v heads and intake and exhaust and everything else bolts up just like normal.
Don't bother with 3v... you will spend more money and end up with less power.
I'm assuming your heads are ok. Tell more about the blowup on your 4.6 then we can get down to finding your parts cheap.
for your bottom end, www.themustangdepot.com
the supercharger pulls a lot of tq on the intake manifold so you'll have trouble getting a sheetmetal aluminum intake to be rigid enough to take the twisting load. Really, it's not going to do what you want.
Get the bottom end and lets get your top end on it or we can get your top end repaired. Head work isn't too bad when it's just repair.

I guess we should also answer his question. You'll need the intake and you'll need to figure out if the motor mounts are the same and you'll need a set of VCT lockouts. You'll also want some more cam than what comes in the 3v. For the TB you'll need to get an adapter. I think Logan motorsports makes one.
