Default PI head issues, need advice

Guys, my stepson's 98 GT is up for a PI head swap. We bought used 01 Romeo heads that looked fine, however, when we got them torn down for hot tanking, we discovered that the cam saddles or cam bearings were worn due to oil starvation. There are several that were really damaged with grooves and aluminum shavings. My question is: can anything be done to fix these, like line boring and inserting cam bearings, or are we owners of junk heads? I'll hold my breath for the answer...

They're junk man. You could theoretically have them cut but I've never heard of a single person doing that. You should be able to find a replacement set cheap to free. Check craigslist.

This is a fairly common problem on neglected and or high mileage engines. The times I've seen it it was always way overdue for oil changes, low on oil and DIRTY. If you found a good set of caps, they could be line bored by a good machinist. Having said that, by the time you were done, you could have just bought another good used set a lot faster and cheaper. Basically they're junk.
