Default 5.0 stroker numbers????

I was wondering what to expect when i go to get my car tuned. My car is a 01 mustang gt with a 5.0 stroker bottom end in it. Bottem end is solid, with forged crank, pistons, and connectiing rods. It should have compresson somewhere of 10.75to1. I have alot of the bolt ons...i have 24 pd injectors, 255lph fuel pump, underdrive pulleys, mac prochamber exhuast, 373 gears, new clutch..and nx plate nitous kit. I plan on running 175 shot...I was hoping to get some guesses on numbers with and without nitrous...Thanks

without more aggressive than stock cams and with stock heads under them you're going to make probably 250-270rwhp and 290-315rwtq which is similar to a stock 4.6 with a few bolt-on's. Tq should be notably higher than a 4.6 but that's about it.

If you pony up for some ported or TFS heads and some appropriate cams to take advantage of them then you could be deep into the 300's.

wow..these are lower than what i am hoping to get...i really dont have money to put into the heads yet..and i need to learn to drive with the nitrous...does juice give you the exact gain as the number..say 175. does that mean 175 increase or is some lost in the driveline ratio...also what kind of track times can i hope for this year with the spray.

like r3dn3ck said you will probably make 250-270 hp. i made 250 NA with forged pistons and rods on my 2v and 320 rwhp on my 75 shot of nitrous. and it made 293 rwtq on motor and 476 ft lbs off just the 75 shot. your best bet getting more hp out of an NA setup is doing cams and heads. just with the right cam for your setup you could probably bring the HP close to 300.

for track times, depending on how you hook up you will probably run mid-low 13's and maybe even a high 12 on motor. with the nitrous you'll be deep into the 12s for sure and possibly high 11s if you hook up.

not all the time. sometimes a 175 shot can only make 125 rwhp sometimes it makes the exact same as what it is listed for. pretty much all depends on who is tuning your car and if they know what they are doing.
is your displacement still 281 CI? or is it actually stroked out to 302 CI ?

I have it stroked to the 302. I prolly will not do much with the heads for now...wll just a good set of cams work and what is a good set to get...are there any other mods guys are doing that give more than a 5hp gain..i want to get ready for this yr track but i spent my money for the yr and looking to keep a smaller budget.

with more displacement you should be making a little more power. i thought u just had the forged rotating assembly, didnt know you bored it out. ur motor should make more than 270 but would benefit greatly from cams and heads. make sure have full exhaust so ur stuff can breath.

comp cams ae270ah should be a good one, but u can never go wrong with a custom grind... although this is usually more money... and u cant beat the price of the 270ah... 589.99$ on american muscle and free shipping.

If you're using nitrous then I wouldn't be too worried about 20hp plus or minus from the motor. It makes what it makes. I'm not really thinking that you'll get much over 270 though with stock cams and heads. Longtubes are usually good for 10-20hp but that includes a new mid-pipe and it costs about 1500-1800 bucks including labor so it's cheaper to do cams.

I like the 270... I use it in my 5.5L.

As for track times... you'll be making enough power on a 150 shot to do really deep 11's if you can stick the launch and keep it out of the wall.

600 for the tubes, 300 for the midpipe, 600-800 for the install which is about 8hrs book time at 75-100 bucks/hr. I was actually being conservative.

note... I have LT's. I know what it costs. Longtubes for 4.6's are cheaper than 5.4's too. 5.4's get to have their LT headers for 1000 just for the pipes.
