Default mass air flow or tuning

I have 2000 mustang gt that built with a 5.0 stroker assembly. The engine is now starving for fuel so i got 24lb injecters. Do i need to upgrade my mass air to bigger and if so what is a good one to use...Will a ford lightning 90mm work. Second question is with tuning, should a good tune be able to make good use of the 24s or should i just upgrade...Also car is going to be set up for 150 to 175 shot of nitrous...thanks

Without knowing how much power you're putting down now it's almost impossible to be helpful.

That said, a few notes:

stock maf is almost certainly just fine. A bigger one is great if you have a blower but NA.. nope.

You probably need a bigger fuel pump. An SVT Focus pump should be fine.

A 175hp shot is generally regarded as too big for the stock intake. I'd stop at 150 or think seriously about direct port kit (NOSzle) or an Edelbrock intake as the stock PI intake is not good for big shots.

i should have mentioned that i installed a svt pump already. I found a good deal on one of my buddys 90mm lightning maf. Will this work and wll it gain me anything...also will better fuel rails help or are they just a waste of money. Can a tuner really adjust the stock air flow so that it takes to the 24 lb injectors

don't bother with a bigger MAF until you have a blower pushing more than 10lbs of boost. It will not gain you a bloody thing otherwise.

Aftermarket fuel rails are pretty. Until you get pretty obscene with the power levels the stocker is fine. You MUST have a tuner adjust your tune for the larger injectors. C&L liked to use calibration tubes on some of their MAF's so you could do injector upgrades without a tune change but that's a kinda asstarded half-measure work around. Get a Xcal-2 or whatever is current and then go get a dyno tune and have them load your tune on the handheld with the adjustability options enabled.

A maf isn't going to add power and your n/a motor doesn't need bigger fuel rails. All you need is a good tuner and some dyno time on the 150hit. Also just so you know anything over a 150hit with a fogger nozzle always ends up with a backfire and cracked intake manifold. However the NX plate kit has been proven good up to as high as 225hp shots threw the stock intake manifold. So keep that in mind.

also going to be getting bbk 78mm throttle body combo...was wondering if that is going to change anything with needing the mass air flow...will it hurt anything if i upgrade anyway.

No maf upgrade is needed unless your running boost. Like I said you can go up to 225hp shot on the NX plate kit. Its been done safely with that kit threw the stock intake manifold. So go find a good local tuner and have the car dyno tuned for whatever shot you want. I would most likely rock a 200hit on something like what you have.

78 is a bit big. You could do with a 70. I don't think it'll hurt but it's not going to do much.

You can rock it I don't see it hurting power on a motor like yours. But you need to get it on the dyno for sure. What cams and compression do you have? and stock heads or no?
