is ther any way to test to see if an egr valve is operating properly?

 

Nope, just got to see if the code pops up.

 

thats what i was thinking. my car has a severe stuttering problem basically it will idle and if im really really light on the throttle i can drive it but any more than that and it chokes like a vaccumn leak. checked all vacumn hoses and wahtnot diddnt find a problem, replaced fuel filter and that diddnt help. my next guess was egr but its throwing no codes at all.
