Default Problem--CAR IS GOING DEAD

I have a 2008 GT with a C&L Racer intake and a Diablo Tuner. The car ran fine until yesterday I had headers and an off road H pipe installed and the car does not idle correctly and it goes dead. Do I have to get the car retuned after changing these things.

Please help,
Jason

Yes, you have to retune the car so the PCM will know the correct air flow. Call the place you got your tuner from and see if they can e-mail you a custom tune for your headers and H pipe.

I bought the C&L Racer intake and the Diablo tuner on Ebay. Do you know where I can get this tune emailed to me?

Hmmm... You can call American Muscle and see what they can do. You might have to pay for the custom tune, though, since you didn't purchase the tuner from them. I think it would be that way from anywhere, though. Have the strategy number for the tuner ready, along with the computer code for your car's computer. Even if they can't help you at AM, they might be able to point you in the right direction. Their customer service is awesome. Call 1-(866)-727-1266 and follow the prompt.

Will it hurt to keep driving the car until I get the tune in?

Black Sunshine,
You do not need to answer questons if you do not know what you are talking about. I found out that the car does not have to be tuned when you install headers and an H pipe. You could cost someone lots of money answering questions that you are not sure of. It sure did sound like you knew what you were talking about though. Thanks anyway.

You dont need to respond to answered questions with bad info. You dont have to get the car tuned if your okay with a car that idles bad stumbles and runs lean. The 05+ car are extremely sensitive to changes in air flow. Why do you think cold airs for 05+ Cars come with tuners?

I feel I do need to respond. There was another problem with the car it was not that it needed to be tuned. The car does not idle bad, stumble or run lean. I under understand that the 05+ cars are extremely sensitive to changes in the airflow in the intake side. They are not on the exhaust though.( I called an expert) Thanks for your concern though.

So almighty expert, what was the problem then? You would help more people by posting back up what the problem was instead of calling out people saying they don't know anything. This way, if someone has a similar problem, they could find the answer by searching.

P.S.: If someone gave you wrong info, you don't post back up like you did. It is disrespectful and will cause problems for you when no one wants to help you out since they are pissed at you.

Yes, you can drive the car without a tune with headers/ mid pipe, but anyone with a brain is going to tell you it's going to be lean as hell and run like ****...but go dumbass keep being a ******** and enjoy your car.

hahaha wow... she gave you the correct information from the information you gave. Good luck with your car. You need a tune just for a CAI on 90% of them since there so sensitive. Good luck to you and your poor running vehicle.... still waiting to hear what was wrong with your car...

Am I to understand that an expert advised this individual that you would not need a tune if you eliminated your Catalytic Convertors by bolting on an off road H pipe?

The expert that I refer to is at a dyno shop in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He says that he has done lots of tunes on late model mustangs and that it did not need a tune on the change that I made to the exhaust. Is he wrong?
The problem of the car going dead was that the filter on the C&L was not all the way on.
If I get the car tuned again will it make that much of a diffrence?
The guy that runs the dyno shop calls himself an expert on mustangs, could he be wrong?

you don't need a tune when you take your cats out... I always enjoy looking at the check engine light, it adds some excitement... your fine just listen to your expert When you add a supercharger you don't need a tune either

Good one man... You just need to learn more about car's before you go calling people out. Don't ask for people's help and then bash them when you get answer. Sorry that my comment made you mad. Need a tissue?
