I got LM1s right now, love the sound

gonna be getting an Xpipe during Xmas, for more loudness

oh and question, this GT around my college, looks like a stock GT but it sounds like a cobra, i mean hood, bumpers, decals, rims, everything is a GT Look, but the cobra sound makes me wish mine sounded like that ... did he spend the money to make it look gt? (idk why?) or is there something done to his car?

I know I am late in replying to this, but I don't care.

So what is your goal with the "loudest" exhaust?
To be the loudest, duh.

Do you want to get a ticket?
No, but if I do, that's my business and my responsibility.

Do you want to be the most annoying car in your neighborhood?
I live a street over from a trailer full of 20 mexicans who party and play circus music at 3am. I hardly think my car is more annoying than that.

Do you plan on having a conversation with the person sitting in the passenger seat?
What person in the passenger seat? No one wants to ride with me because my car is too damn loud!

Do you really need the extra attention?
No, I don't. I just put the exhaust I wanted on my car and I personally don't give a **** if anyone else likes it or not.

I don't understand the purpose of wanting the "loudest" exhaust.
You don't have to understand what other people want, especially when it comes to their own cars. If you're going to spend your life trying to understand things like that, you are wasting your life.

Just my 2 cents
And you just got mine.

My questions are reasonable and if you think they aren't you're out to lunch my friend. Maybe you live in an area where the cops don't give noise tickets, but most large cities have cracked down on loud cars.

If someone wants the LOUDEST exhaust possible that's fine with me, but don't come on this site bitching about getting a ticket or wanting new exhaust cause you can't hear what what your girlfriend is saying in the passenger seat.

Noise is a killer to hobbies like ours.....regardless if you ride dirt bikes or collect hot rods it's a killer.

They sell on X pipe that is modular so it can be used with stock manifolds. Then later on once you have their long tubes you can take off the upper part of the X and use it with the long tubes. Very cool setup they have, but pricey. AM.com sells it under the SLP exhaust part.

edit: OK i looked and for some reason am.com does not sell the non catted pipe anymore. Also they sell almost no H pipes now, wtf?

I didn't say your questions were unreasonable did I? *Checks previous post* No, I didn't. I just answered them with a little humor/sarcasm mixed with truth. I do live in an area where the cops give noise tickets, so I have to learn to 'finesse' it a bit.

I completely agree with you about the part of your post I have bolded. I am not the type to bitch about something that is my fault. I know that a noise ticket is a possiblity for having a loud exhaust. My exhaust was my choice, so it is my fault. If people don't like my car, they don't have to ride in it.

I don't understand what you mean when you say 'noise is a killer'. How so? Are hot rods and dirt bikes supposed to be quiet? I live in the south, so a quiet hod rod, dirt bike, big truck, or ATV is the eighth sin, haha.

King, you're right. I won't have that problem. I actually haven't had anyone complain about my exhaust... yet.

If it doesn't bother somebody, it's not loud enough yet. lol

I've got old grumpy neighbors so if I get anything louder they'll probably shank me in my sleep.

I know that this is really late but when I my Mom had her 04 GT I swapped out the exhaust from the stock manifolds back. I put on a 2.5" Bassani off road x-pipe and no mufflers with 3" tips.

This is NOT my car unfortunately we didn't have a camera to video it. I found this on youtube and it is the same exact setup.

She loved it. Fortunately the neighbors didn't mined and when she let me drive it, it was awesome.

well since this is brought back up. the loudest mufflers i have heard would be billets.. they are basically just tubing with a little muffler inside... one of my friends with a 5.0 cobra has them and WOW, LOUD.. its almost as loud as him just running straight pipes

I know of 3 loud mufflers, I have used and experimented with all of them
SLP loudmouth 1's - loudest I liked them, some don't they are very raspy, but are decent at cruising speeds

Dynomax Bullets - little quieter than SLP and a little less raspy

Flowmaster SINGLE (1) chamber these are the little like 6"x6" boxes. Loud not as loud as the 2 posted above, good deep rumble sound, But they drone at cruising speeds and make your head feel like its gonna explode!

with that said My 1st choice is the flowmaster 1 chamber, than SLP, than the dynomax

I have the Pypes Violator catback on mine. Not quite as loud as the glasspacks I had but nice sounding none the less....Scream at WOT though...Neighbors complain when I put the car away for the winter because they have to set their alarm clocks...
