Default engi//ne dies when fan turns on

i have a problem with my 2000 gt. i will be driving normally, and when i hit the brakes the radio shuts off, sometime the car will shut-off as well....

also if i am driving the car will shut off, then turn back on.....sometimes the gauges will short, the speedo and tach will spin all the way and then back to zero.

the car will also shut-off briefly when the electric fan turns on and if i roll the window up and hold the button for 5 seconds it will sometime shut the car off...

anybody hear of any of these problems?

The gauges rolling to max and then back to normal is normal when you do something like disconnect the battery for a while. I think the first step should be for you to get your alt and bat checked.

+1. Check the large power fuse conections on the side of the fuse box on the fenderwell on the drivers side under the hood. Good Luck
