Default Confused

I have a 2001 automatic GT and the only thing done to it are flowmaster mufflers that came on the car when I bought it. I should be getting $800 soon from my amp/subs and I dont know what to do with the money. I cant decide if I want to go with looks or power. If I were to go with power what would you guys suggest? No nitrous! If I were to go with looks I was planning on the mach 1 chin spoiler/grill delete, eibach springs to lower my car about 1.5" all around, and possibly if I could work up some more money I would get some deep dish wheels in the back (but most likely that wont happen). What should I do???

It's all on what you want! If you want power, the first thing i'd recommend are some 4.10 gears since you've got an auto! Full exhaust, e.i...LT headers, o/r midpipe, catback,U/d pullies, stall, converter, t/b,plenum and so on...that would put you in a good 255-265 rwhp! But if you're looking for looks, well I don't know what to tell you on that one..its your car do what you think is best for you and your stang! Just don't make your stang a ricer!

4.10 rear end gears, and sct xcalibrator 2 or diablosport programmer to correct the speedometer for the gear and they also let you tune the timing, shift points, etc.

4.10 gears was one of the main things I was planning on getting if I went for power. I have seen motive gears and ford racing gears. Is one better than the other. What type of gears do all of you have? And is there a brand of gears that is the best?

Which company has always been a major discussion on this board. I think it comes down to personal prefrence (if there is any difference at all) from what peopel ford MIGHT be a little quiter. But the general concensus is, just pick one...cus it really doesn matter.

Thats what I would do and then lower it with H&R sports.

Or he can be crazy, and spend all his money lowering it with H&R supersports

anyways, buy the gears first. that will be one less thing you have to worry about and that will probably give you the best "seat of the pants" feel unless you plan on getting blown .....i also suggest getting a midpipe (X or H) depending on your preference of sound...

If I got the FRPP gears from this site would you recommend getting the bearking kit and installationg kit. I was thinking about getting the bearing kit because I have about 61,000 miles but I didnt know if I should get the installation kit or not. Or do I have to have it?

Get the 8.8" bearing kit, not the installation kit.
