I dont understand why some people say such in such engine parts will fit GT or Cobras and leave out LX.....I know that cobras had the GT40 heads and some minor changes mostly in the body and interior but arn't most 5.0 (4.9999) engines the same? And won't most parts fit for them regardless of what style they were?

 

Yea, Im pretty sure that all the 302 stuff will fit along the lines of LX, GT, Cobra. Its the same engine except for heads and intakes and such.

 

Well, the LX is like the black sheep. Any LX starting with the 1994 model year can only be gotten with a V6. No optional motor. The previous model LX was a standard 4 cylinder with an optional 5.0 V8. When they say it will fit a GT prior to 1994, they pretty much just mean it will fit a 5.0 engine. Like Matt said, Cobras have some different parts, but the LX 5.0 and the GT 5.0 are the same motor.
