Default 03 Mustang 5.0 swap??

Ok so this question might belong in 5.0 tech so I'm sorry if I'm wrong. My question is why cant a 5.0 be thrown into late mustangs? I want a 5.0 or a 351 carbed in it but I've never asked why. If anyone could answer this for me I'd appreciate it. Also if anyone knows exactly what you have to do to do this then please let me know as well. Thanks.
P.s- I have an 03 Gt if you need to know what I drive.

You can they make k-members with 302/351 motor mounts that bolt in 96-04 cars so you can if you want to. Then its just a matter of going carbed and getting it working or going efi ad getting it to work.

Is that it? Just the k member and the motor mounts? I'd go carbed but its possible to get it in and still have a cold running A/C? If it's that simple how come I have'nt seen nobody do it? Thanks.

Well why not? Thats why I'm asking questions to find out what's the good's and the bad's about doing this. Part's for a 302/351 are cheap and a dime a dozen. I know probably doing the swap is alot of cash but I think it would be worth it in the end. I appreciate any info you can give me though.

You can make a/c on anything work. And many people do have older style push motors in 96+ cars, its been done alot. Most people dont because they use what motor they have or buy foxs or 94-95 cars with 302s in them and go from there. Or because the mod motor loves boost so most do that.

im going with the 5.4 swap. You can see all the pro's and con's in the forum and red is building his up and they just came out with a new intake for it too.

You can also swap a k-member from a 94-95 Mustang instead of an aftermarket piece if you're tight on cash. However, you will nt pass emissions since all they have to see is the carb and you're done for. I'd personally would stick w/ the 4.6 and coverting to carb use (Edelbrock has the timing unit, and will also have an intake, evetually) since it'll be cheaper. However, if you want the old SBF, make a 351 Clevor (Windsor block and Clevland heads).

I realized going pushrod is more expensive then what I thought. I found out that 4.6 blocks can handle like 1000HP. I dunno if thats true but yea it would be cheaper to just build an all out 4.6 then to go pushrod. I wanted big numbers all NA is why I was interested. Thanks for the info though guys.

well for price, if you get the K member and drop a 302 in it and then add intake heads, cam and rockers, you would easily be pusing 300rwhp. That combo will set you back about 2 grand. Now for 4.6 if you get the intake, cams and heads, depending on 2v or 3v, that could be a little under 3 grand and alot more for the 3v(and when that intake comes out) Also plan on spending more if someone else installs the parts for you.
I had everything on my 95 GT, from GT40 heads and intake, e303 cam and so on and later carbed it. The power difference was great, pulled harder in the upper rpms too. Gas mpg sucked though.
Depends on what you want and like and stick with it, just do your homework for both carbed 302 or built 4.6 and see what's in your budget.
I know with a 302, it's torque is awesome and with the right cam and it's loping at the red light is awesome too. i beat several modulars with my 95 GT. Good luck with it.

Ill be honest, I dont know how accurate those 2 and 3 grand prices are but...... One thing to consider is if ya do the push rod swap, you could then sell the 4.6 and other extra parts to recoup some of the cash spent. So if ya spent 2 grand on the swap you could SURELY get 1k back on selling the other stuff!
