Default 4.6 Trick Flow Intake

Hey all!

It has been way too long since I posted anything. I have come across some money to start work on my motor again. For those who are new or need some insight, my 96 GT is running the full forged, PI swapped, .030 bored, flat top piston equiped motor. Compression is 11:8-1.

Question is this: I am installing stage 2 low lift cams and going with long tube headers instead of my ceramic shorties. I want to keep my strut tower brace so using the BBK 4.6 intake and some of the other won't work under it, the Professional Products intake looks way too much like the stock PI and I am not sure they gains would be much, so has anyone checked into the new trick flow track heat intake for 4.6's and would this intake be ok with such a high compression motor?

As always thanks for the input. You never let me down.

I think your best bet would be to go with a real Bullitt intake setup. Even better ported and polished. The trick flow does look like it would gain good power, but they use a single blade throttle body whereas the bullitt uses a dual blade. With your killer N/A setup, I would go with the dual blade bullitt intake.

bullit or HPS. Pro products is less well performing than stock despite a shiny surface. I'd go with the HPS intake. It'll fit exactly like the stocker and it's a helluva lot better when you start seeing cams tossed in to the equation.

High static compression will be helped a bit by a lumpy cam like a VT stage 2. May help with the tuning. Trick flow's intake looks like a warmed over plastic bullit piece. I lack trust until I see the insides of one.

Anyone know of where would be a good start to get a bullit intake kit besides FRPP?

Thanks again! I am looking into the HPS intake. Do you know of the adapter or piece I need to use to attach the second coolant sensor. We had to swap the metal coolant passage off my 96 Intake to the 99-04 PI piece to make sure it had a spot to attach.

for the second coolant sensor you have 2 ways of doing it with the HPS or even a aluminum-crossover PI.

1. Use a few NPT pipe fittings and make a T setup off the 1 that you plug both sensors into. Position is mostly irrelevant but you need to keep the sections short and include some way of burping the air out of it (I have the exact fitting you'll need... PM me for a pic if you need).

2. On the HPS you can drill and tap the crossover tube. It's got a bung cast in on the driver side that's meaty enough for the 2nd sensor. LMK if you can't find the right tap. They're not stocked at Lowe's or Home Depot or OSH. I have a couple. You can drill the PI intake but it's kinda thin for my taste. Won't take a tap as well as the HPS.

Speaking of the HPS. I'm down to finish sanding on the common plenum of mine. I'll try and post some pics later tonight.
