Default knock retard

When I was modding Grand Prix's fighting knock was a big issue on the supercharged cars, and to some extent on the n/a GP's too. Several people destroyed their engine's because of it. Is this a common issue on Mustangs? It seems like eliminating knock would be important when you start bumping timing reguardless of the type of car. Is there any way to monitor knock and or knock retard on Mustangs?

The best way to avoid engine knock in mustangs is either have the car dyno tuned or purchase a hand held tuner, which also can adjust your A/F, rear end gear ratio ect......

yours doesn't have a knock sensor. Those are mostly on trucks and supercharged cars. If you're getting detonation/knocking under pretty much any condition then the tune isn't right. It's not a major problem out of the box on our cars or really with most bolt on's either but once you start getting into heads/cam/power-adder territory it becomes a factor in getting the tune right just like with any car.
