Default P0190 code on Vortech '01 GT but running pig rich?

Hi guys,

I recently installed a Vortech V2 on my '01 GT. Here is the combo:
- 99-04 Vortech V2 SQ
- AFM Powerpipe
- Focus High Volume Fuel Pump
- NGK TR6 Spark Plugs gapped at 0.030
- SCT-BA2400
- Bosch 42lb Injectors
- 96-03 4.6L GT 180° Thermostat.
- SCT-9400 - SCT Xcalibrator 2
- Accufab 75mm Plenum & Throttle body
- MAC Off-Road H-pipe
- Flowmaster cat back

While street tuning it for the first time @ WOT, a weird thing happened. I did around 7-8 runs in 3rd gear from 3000 to 6100 RPM, I kept running pig rich (below 10 until 5600 RPM, beetween 10 and 11.6 from 5600 RPM to 6100 RPM). The car obviously needs some tuning...

After these runs, I decided to give it a try in 2nd gear. Try #1, everything ok. Try #2, everything ok. Try #3, BAM! I totally lost control of the backend and the RPM started pegging @ 6000-6200 RPM. The check engine light immediately went on with a (P0190 - FUL RAIL PRS CIR ERR) code. I cleared it and went WOT again in 3rd gear, and everything was ok. Pig rich again, no check engine light.

What could cause this? Did the rolling burnout combined with pig rich conditions cause a fuel pressure instability? How could I run lean according to the code if my Wideband Commander logs display values beetween 10 and 11.6?

The sensor seems ok since I was unable to reproduce the code.

Check the plugs, if they are fouled up bad or physically danaged they will not burn all the fuel in the cylinder and it will enter the exhaust as droplets of fuel. The o2's cannot read a liquid so they will onyl see a lot of air (and not the fuel)and it will cause them to read lean. The 05-07's had this problem (stock) also

Thanks for the advice! My TR6s are gapped conservatively (0.030), but I'll have a look.

check for an exhaust leak. It may explain the pig rich condition and the sensed lean condition.
