Default 4.6 bank engine says it's running rich

Hi Folks!
This my first post so bare with me. I've got a check engine light on my 1997 4.6 Mustang GT. Autozone's hand held reader ...says bank one engine is running rich...don't see how thats possible If one of you tec guys could please give me some advice I would be greatful.

My 4.6 has a BBK mass air-intake, 75mm throtle body. new Autocraft platium plugs. Runs great but my light has been on for days.

Next problem may be related my Temp gauge reads 0 non function at this time. I bought the car this way and don't know it's history.

Did you get the light after you installed the "BBK mass air intake"? If so, remove it and disconnect the battery for awhile and see if the code comes back on.

Honestly, thats what I would do either way.

running rich could be caused by any number of things. Chief among them is a vacuum leak. Check the intake area for a whistling sound at idle and make sure all your connections are secure.

For them temp... get a new sensor. They're cheap.

had the same problem on my f150 it was a torn manifold gasket. So a vaccum test would be in order if i was you.
