Mods on High Comp 96 GT
Hey guys and gals!
This is actually one of the first posts I am posting where I am not requestin information on how to fix a hiccup, but rather a few opinions on what is scheduled to be done next to my car. Below in the signature block on the post you will see what is currently done to my car. With that said, I need you .02 worth of advice on the things scheduled to be done by early summer.
I have an appointment to install a 2400 rpm B&M torque converter on my 4R70W on the 30th. This is because the car won't see a whole lot of drag racing but, a circle track here or there and alot of personal street enjoyment.
Next month it is up for the shorty FRPP headers to be removed after only a few months of use and MAC longtubes for automatics and a shorty BBK x-pipe to replace the standard BBK x on there now.
The month after is Stage 2 low lift cams since I am running 11:8-1 compression and don't want to smack valves and pistons together with going high lift. Duration numbers for the cams will be the same but with a little less lift.
This will complete the car for the year until the next winter/ spring. Do you all think this is a good and solid course to go with this high compression motor I have. I am keeping it N/A and doing what I can to get decent power and performance out of my daily driver.
As always your opinions and input are highly prized and respected. Thanks for all the help you all have already provided the last several months.

Very poor choice with the converter. I dont even know anyone running the B&M and theres probably a reason for that. Also, Your stock stall will stall anywhere from 2300-2750rpm. Read this, https://mustangboards.com/modular-4-...comp-96-a.html Trust me, you will be very disapointed if you put that converter in, I gaurentee it! Im sure Darrin or Alan have taken apart a B&M before, ask them what they have found.
Talk to Darrin or Alan about getting the right converter for your set up. Also, if you have a dyno graph then please post it so I can see it.

Thanks. I asked the mustang shop which is doing it, if they had a TCI or better brand which I could order thru them. Otherwise, I will order what I want and have them install what I bring them.

http://www.converter.com/stallion.htm id look into one of these if i was you, they are somewhat expencive but one of the best converter companies on the market and will blow away any TCI or B&M. http://www.edgeracingconverters.com/ these are also good converters and a little cheeper.
I would be carefull with that cam, you have very high compression and more duration meens the valve is open longer meaning even at the same lift you still run more of a risk of ptv contact then the stock cam

Thanks for the info. Those two sites are pretty good. NEver heard of either of them before. I appreciate it. As for the cam, I am not sure if it is really got more duration or not. I haven't seen the one that MOdular Madness recomends yet. However, the ones I have seen seem to vary a great deal, so I am researching things at the moment. Thanks again.
